Were any of you able to beat the original Mechwarrior on the SNES without using the ALLY cheat? I could never get past the first few missions without cheating...

beat the PC version, but honestly had more fun buying mechs close to the core, or on world's with mech production facilities, and selling them for a mint out on the Rim.
