I finally unlocked all my Spider mechs, got them to Elite level.

As soon as I got them unlocked, I find myself in games where everyone has camo on their mechs, and its just gauss and PPC snipefests.. and finding a game takes a long time to get in.

Even when I hop in a Trial mech, it seems to bump me in with crazy good players now.

I switch to a newer mech, like my entry Jagermech I just bought so I can start to work and level him up, and I run into the same batch of crazy good players all of which have camo and awesome mechs that I just get murdered by.

Now that I'm unlocked on my spider, am I forced into a higher experience bracket across the board now for any mech I run?

Or is it all based on each individual mech's experience as far as who you fight against?

There are no ELO brackets, it's just an average of the team.

If you have a high ELO you might get more newer players to compensate and get the average back down.

As for ELO, it's base on weight class, so all lights share the same ELO, but are different for heavies, meds and assaults.

You have four separate Elo levels -- one for each 'Mech class (Light, Medium, Heavy, and Assault).

Elo is based on your wins and losses. You start out with a 1300 rating (which is actually a mid-level rating) in each class and you will eventually maneuver yourself into a situation where your wins and losses will be roughly equal. The matchmaker tries to get you into matches with people of roughly the same Elo rating, but sometimes the search must be widened (depending on your play times and the server population).

as you play more, you suck less, your elo goes up. After a while you find yourself in with the real sharks. Time of day is a big thing. (CST here) Mid morning to early afternoon i find a bit less skilled players but more whining. As the night progressing into very early morning the real killers come out and god help you if you hit the 7pm after dinner "league" players dropping 4, 8 and 12 man teams. You end up being a target to very accurate concentrated fire. Now every now and again you hook up with some of these killers and your team wins big.

YMMV As this is just my observations after a bit over 300 game since I started this month. As my win/loss ratio gets closer to 1 I find myself over my head more and more. I just have to get smarter to not be the first one killed all the time ;-)

I don't think its based on K/D at all.

After grinding like a madman for 3 weeks to get my 3 jagers up in their Pilot trees, same thing happened that did when I unlocked it all for my spiders.

The instant I unlocked master and got my extra mod slot, I was throw in with the Uber pro's again, everyone had crazy camo, and just about everyone was loaded with ppc/gauss combos (way more than what I see usually).

I havn't gotten more than 1 kill every 10 games, lots of assists, but not enough to affect my ELO if its based on KDR.
