c'mon, this illusion is way old news.
I wonder if someone re-introduced it into internet pop culture specifically to track how far/deep/wide it spreads in a given timeframe. I've seen it all over my facebook feed as well as other internet venues, all as people are 'discovering' this thing and sharing it as if it was brand new.

Yeah, I've seen that style of illusion for a number of years in varying formats....
....still cool though.
