This is a good advice. Rolling pugs is the best the game can offer atm. and it makes you think youre good so its a win/win.
Not even about that. Just the teamwork aspect makes this game enjoyable. going in solo with no communication and people you cant rely on is pretty... bleh....

It's actually the pugs who disco or run off and die who lead to the steamrolls, more than premades. Aside from the 3-4 man 733C poptart steiner scout lances, those tend to be rather effective. But tonnage limits will make it less of an advantage, and the tonnage requirements will stop 4 man locust drops from making you severely underweight.

Pretty much hitting the jets right before you get shot is an easy way to spread damage all over your mech because of hit reg.
If you are using mixed weaponry with different speeds, this problem becomes worse when an enemy is bunny hopping.
It becomes managable if you use certain weapon combinations that hit hard and hit the same spot at the same time.
As you can imagine, this causes some pretty obvious mech advantages.
Which mecs can jump to spread out damage while hitting with strong pinpoint weapon mount combos that mitigates this problem?
HGN-733C and CTF-3D
It gets rediculous as your elo goes up, as you see squads of HGN-733Cs pop tarting in the same defensible places all the time.

There is still no real progression. There is no role warfare. And there are still some major core issues around.
We also still have silly things like ECM and Ghost Heat some how still in the game.
My take is if you aren't a serious hardcore gamer and you aren't looking to throw money at it the game is good for casual play.
Main issue now is if you want to get a new mech you are almost better starting a separate account to get the cadet bonus, the grind is REALLY rough now.

you frogot the victor
anyways. I can say so much on the jump jets.. and been arguing over that for awhile... that is one thing that needs to change... I dunno.. maybe make them heavir... change how they work.... so on... so forth.... something. I dont want to see jump sniping DIE, but it needs to become significantly harder.

further more. Like what others are saying, "core game play" is just the same... so if it was ****** to you then, it'll still be ****** now.
weapons are not balanced... hahahaha, because the "core game play" has remained the same.
If you want to re install, please by all means do so, but I'll tell you its pretty much the same.... lack luster, round by round, grind.... oh, and since you were gone, they nerfed the hell out of C-Bill gain, so be warned

People still use joysticks?
Games are rollovers ~75% of the time; I don't know wtf they were thinking about with ELO, but even for a company renowned for stupid ideas, this one stands out; do well in a heavy for a while then want to unlock a light tree? Better be prepared to get ***-***** a couple of hundred times. Unless you are in a premade.
Clans, CW, etc are as in as they are going to be; new mechs, that you will have to pay real money for, that are 3x as good as the f2p mechs, are in the works. Other than that, I hope you like endless team deathmatch.
I'm not sure who thinks that this is balanced, but ballistics are the only really effective weapons in the game; lasers are too hard to get focused damage out of, and missiles are useless in 2/3 of matches due to ECM; again, unless you are in a premade group. The "counters" to ECM are apparently a source of much amusement to PGI, but not much use to anyone else.
There are some people playing, although once you've played enough rounds for your ELO to count, you will spend much of your time waiting to find a match.
TL;DR: The game is borked; premades still romp all over PUGs, balance is nonexistent, and there is still only one game mode (albeit with 3 different options). "Magic" ECM, bull**** heat, lag shielded lights, hacks.... don't even pretend that ELO or stats are meaningful.
Still waiting for this game to get out of beta.

that first statement there... ya... .that is an annooying thing.. BUT it also encourages you to drop in a lance with people to lower your elo. It works.
and frankly... yes this game is still in beta....

But if you just read the cesspool *cough* i mean the forums. You would think this game just crashed the world economy and created 2 illegal wars and never got held accountable.
