P2W is definitely here; all those saying otherwise are ignoring the vast gulf in the amount of time it takes to unlock trees, save up for modules, etc.

I guess since we ALL assume that TIME == MONEY this is true. Really, though, you pretty much undercut your first sentiment -- pay to win is here, because it takes so much time to do it for free.

Wrong, this game is not P2W.... Time = Money. YOU choose which to pay but there's NOTHING I can do better than you for having paid money for shinies. Our skill and efficiency trees are the same. So I have a few hero mechs, they are not better than any other mech on the field. I challenge you to prove otherwise......

First off, look at who is posting and what. Clearly, if they are not a founder (like yourslef) they most likely don't know WHAT your talking about as "change". to them, waiting CW and UI2 are new things... but for us, not so much.

You know, just because some people don't have the almighty founders badge doesn't mean they haven't been playing since closed beta, might wanna open your eyes a little more before acting all high and mighty.

once you've played enough rounds for your ELO to count, you will spend much of your time waiting to find a match.

I've found wait time significantly reduced by letting the matchmaker decide what game mode I'll be playing.

Well, if you ignore MC arty, air, cool shot, and what ever these new modules that only come with a gold mech. the cbill variants only require premium time if you cant earn at least 100k a match, win or lose. (that means you better always place in the top 6 each match.)

Naw, not even an hint of P2W here.

The C-bill modules are just as effective as the MC ones, you just have to grind a little.

It's pretty darn easy to get 100k per match with a normal mech, but much simpler with a hero or phoenix. Assists net you more Cbills than a kill.

The exclusive modules....that we cannot say for certain yet.

I haven't played in almost a year, (got real tired of the awful decisions the company was making about game direction), and have decided to return hoping things have improved. I realize I may get polarized responses, which is fine, I want to hear both sides of the story. Have they made it less P2W? Is there better Joystick support? Is matchmaking fair? Are clans fun? Are weapons broken? What's up. I want to redownload this.

Oh... and are there a lot of players?

Well not having played in so long you are in for a treat ..

more mechs to configure if your in to that

and a few new maps to play on and a extra game mode (nothing special just typical team death match)

we have couple new modules to goof around with zoom module is actually useful now .

and the meta game has changed significantly since last year . due to changes in how the mechs move on the field ,

weapon changes, hit detection/ netcode improvements , mech spawn location changes, airstrike and artillery are actually a threat , and an overall change in player base .

the game is a lot slower paced now with 4 - 8 minute sniping and positioning sessions.

unfortunately its still the same overall game game with the same core problem

after a several matches it soon becomes the same ol mix thats plaqued the game from the start .

the game sorely needs a mix up in game modes and play style to keep it from from stagnating so quickly .

as usual we are waiting (maybe by march ???) for solutions to this.

as for any hope that pgi is heading in the right direction in my opinion... no . the latest command chair talks about some weird leveling scheme they are planning??? at least they are looking into modules though .

so in summary

there is more mechs and more maps to play on

but the same problem of limited game modes ensures that the new content becomes stale quickly

having been gone for a year you will find the game fun at times but in the end you will be left wondering where the real gameplay is .

oh yeah before i forget the player base has not increased since you left .

but i have not noticed a severe delay in finding matches your results may vary of course.

well one to two minutes for it to find a match for you seems average in pugs.
12 mans you will mostly fail to find a match unless you organize beforehand with other 12's
