Just a quick question, how high is the Deimos supposed to be? Tried Googling it, but did not find an answer.

A recent 1/60 kit of the Deimos was put into limited production by TheTeacher. Compared to a 1/60 Armorcast Mad Cat:

If this image is reliable (and it is, taken from TRO3050 and MechWarrior 2nd Edition rulebook), it pegs a Mad Cat at 12.6 meters (41.3'). Given the discrepancy between that measurement and the Vulture's, one could reasonably conclude that this height includes the missile launchers. The 1/60 Deimos is roughly the same height as the Armorcast Mad Cat, so it could also be roughly that tall.

Though I would think it would need to be a bit bigger than that - considering the the roominess of a T-Wolf's cockpit., the Deimos' cockpit would be an intensely tight squeeze and have walls made of paper (unless the pilot sits further back inside the torso, and even then it's a bit tight). I think it has to be at least 10% bigger to make any kind of sense (closer to 15.24m/50' but I would go even bigger).

The video games do not agree with the Mad Cat's height - the MW3 manual cites its height to be 15 meters, MW4 claims it's just 10.5. And herein lies an issue (not to mention video games are non-canon).

The Deimos was originally a non-canon design for the fan expansion to MW4Mercs (and was later canonized). It was originally scaled to fit in with the 'Mechs existing in that game already, which themselves were re-scaled to create a linear progression of size (light 'Mechs are small and assault 'Mechs are big). We know that in the "reality" of BattleTech this is not the case; see the height of the Dasher and Koshi in my size comparison link above. Some lighter designs can be quite tall indeed, but are spindly. We even see this in MWO, where some 'Mechs are larger than what their mass might indicate (Stalker vs. Catapult). Clearly we can see the effects of this scale with the alleged 1/60 model - it is 1/60 based on its in-game dimensions, which were designed around non-canon scales of existing 'Mechs (and therefore, I argue, was not scaled correctly to begin with).

it should be somewhere between 12 and 14 meters tall.

atlas is 14m tall. almost all mechs are shorter.

A BattleMech (often abbreviated 'Mech, although that could technically also refer to IndustrialMechs) is an armored combat vehicle of roughly humanoid shape, some 10 to 20 meters tall and typically massing from 20 to 100 tons. 'Mechs are best suited for ground combat, although they are also capable of operation underwater, in vacuums and/or in zero-g environments (space).

I don't know the reasoning why, but it was canonized in TRO 3085.

It is a pretty great looking mech (IMO), kind of in the style of some of the unseen with those long gun barrels. It was canonized as a Clan Snow Raven design.
