Not sure what's up with the matchmaker, but for the past week most of the PUG team's I've been dropping with have epicly plumbed the depths of derp.

Here's my favourite post match screen. Features:
  • 5 players scored less than 50 damage
  • 9 players scored less than 100 damage
  • top scorer did 208 damage
  • a Founder Atlas scored 22 damage
Is anyone else experiencing this? If so, share your screenies. I'd like to know if I'm having this much ''fun'' all by myself...?

I do wish I hadn't activated my Premium Time recently. 50% on top of ''Hey where did the rest of the team all go? Oh hell now I'm facing 11 enemies solo. Somehow I cannot single-handedly turn this match around. Oh well now I'm dead'' is no more rewarding just playing for free.

Your problem is one of several reasons I hardly play this game lately. It happens to me all the time.

The real question is; Which one of those was your score? =]

Everyone has a bad game from time to time. I have been leveling Commandos recently and I had some very good games and some very bad. One time last week I got one shot through the rear left torso less than a minute into the match and did a whopping 0 damage. The next game I did over 600. It is frustrating to see a lot of low damage scores but everyone has a bad game now or then and when one person goes down quick it often snowballs.

A lot of people also enjoy playing while drinking or using other mind altering substances, which inevitably leads to poorer performance. My KDR would probably be a lot higher if I had only ever played sober (and my match count a lot lower).

Tell that to the stoners I used to play CS or Team Fortress Classic with back in the day. That pot seemed to give them superpowers at those games.

Nothing makes you sadder than when you're in a brand new mech or on a team full of people that don't know their heads from their butts. I did pull a game the other day with only 78 damage but that was due to an Artillery Strike headshot. That being said, I've had more than a few games over my lifetime under 200 and under 100. The learning curve on this game is pretty big and it takes a very long time to get a handle of a mech even if you'be been playing the game for years.

I had a match in a Blackjack with 8 ML where I went 5/6 and had 1200 damage (I think I netted over 5k XP including the 2x bonus), followed immediately by a game where I got 23 damage and died almost instantly. Bad luck and cowardly team mates can really ruin a score, while a string of good luck and close calls can boost your score into the stratosphere.

That said, I have been seeing a bunch of unpleasant, one-sided matches lately. That could just be frustration on my part (selective memory of bad games and all that), but it's still a pattern that I've been perceiving, whether it's real or imagined.

I took a screen shot of my team last week that had 11 assults and a Shawk for a total of 1095 tons. Dont know how to get to the screen shots though lol.
It was a pug match and we did lose to cap also

I did have a strange match the other night, our team had a very split result. 6 had scores over 400 damage, with a couple being 600-900, and 6 had under 200 damage. It ended up being 3 to 1, with all 4 being CT open, a surprisingly close match.

But I've had some where the second highest has been around the 200 mark. I normally stop pugging at that point.

Heh. I was trying to level that Thunderbolt 9SE. Levelling is ''quite a slow process'' when your entire team barely scratches the paint, then dies, leaving you facing 12 enemies alone.

My CoD clan wouldn't let some players play without having a bowl first lol
They'd go from a .5 KDR match to a 3.7 KDR match after

Hollywood: Yeah, and he's laughing at us, right on the radio, he's laughing at us.

That's kind of what I do a lot when I'm dead in a solo pug match wondering where everyone went.

Playing video games and drinking for me is a lot like playing pool. After 3-4 drinks I am good and loosened up and play better. After 6 there is a noticable decrease in effectiveness at the game and some frustration. After 10 I suck at the game but I don't care. I like to play not sober but it has a tremendous toll on my reflexes and decision making, but I guess that's the point.

Having the discipline to cut off your drinking at just the right point can lead to all kinds of success in life... and failure to do so in a moment of weakness can be disastrous.

can't say that playing on teams that bad is average for me. Don't think I've ever been on one so bad before. But it's also all situational, most games I do pretty well, but there's just those times where you're not having a good game.
