The two UAC5's appear to have the same model, with the top one simply clipping inside of the shoulder.

Still seems wrong to me. If you have this HUGE hump on a mech, the ballistics should be fully contained inside it. If you want to make it look like this above, make the hump small like a Shadowhawk at that point :( .

None of these mechs really matter, because none of them are viable.

They're all running with less than 10 tons free, with no engine.

The system doesn't really need to support looking cool with mechs that can't even be fielded.

PGI can't even balance simple stuff, if mech is easy to hit (slow, have enormous hitboxes) it should have high armor to compensate. But that's not the case with Awesome, well not entirely, it's energy weapons being obsolete is the core of the problem. You can fire balistics on cooldown but you can't do so with lasers. Ghost heat must be removed, heat cap reduced, heat dissipation increased, there you go, no high alphas and no dps penalty, which current heat system is now, for energy weapons.

Well, except we've already gone over the 4-PPC thing being actually done. For ages. Or the whole thing with the multiple (and viable) AC's that looked fugly. Point being that it's looking a little awkward here with the Hunchback.

Awesomes are obsolete?
The hunchbacks are replacing the Awesomes?

Is this PGI's version of saying they want to ditch the Awesome?
Tune in next time to see what happens!

Dammit, PGI.

PGI could have at least centered the PPCs in the box.

Look close, there are three medium lasers mounted next to the PPCs, have to have room for ALL the weapons in the box :(

Also, I think the Awesome with that build would have one thing going for it the Hunchie doesn't....an engine lol

I've seen a pink elephant too....

There's a big difference between "seeing them fielded" and being "viable"... :P

Someone's clearly doing so as a lark...

I guess I'm the only one who thinks these hunchbacks all look really cool? Especially the PPC ones. We'll never see them in real games, but at least we can make cool looking fantasy robots in the mech lab!

Quad-PPC H-backs are actually pretty scary snipers, for a 50-tonner. (Heck, even a triple-tapper is). You just have a verrry slow fire rate if you push all the fire buttons at once, but it's enough to frag a light 'Mech at long range and give anything bigger a nice big hole to worry about. It's an example of taking frontloading your DPS to the extremes, but Prosperity Park can tell you about the plentiful smoking ruins he's left with one.

People used to complain about "Assault Mechs 1-shotting people" when I would smear them with a quad PPC Swayback... good times.

I have no doubt they're imposing...

Point being though, even though they "exist" and under the right circumstances might be an imposing force, under normal conditions it's suicidal for any sane person to run them... Not even considering a competitive environment.

These are "lutz builds" plain and simple... :P

What's funnier is that screenshot shows the 'Mech at 42.2 tons.

Pull out the medium lasers. You could fit four ER PPCs in it. I want to see what bloated nightmare that produces.

Nah, there's no engine in that thing, and maybe no armor either. Gotta fix those before you can fit anything in there.

Why not feed the flames and go with a Deathstar? One shot, one kill, guaranteed. And sometimes you'll kill the other guy too!
