"Ember" Firestarter FS9-E

The 35 ton light "Ember" Hero Mech is the first of the new Firestarter chassis. FS9-E features a chunky set of hardpoints, with 4 energy hardpoints and 4 ballistic hardpoints you'll be blasting the cockpit of your enemies and cooking them like a Terra Therma lava flow. Ember comes equipped with 4 flamers and 4 machine guns, so there's no shortage of firepower for this short `Mech.

This incendiary hero has 5 jump jets (max 6), so you'll be blazing around the Inner Sphere at a top speed of 97.2 kph and a 30% C-Bill bonus!

Tonnage: 35 Engine: 210 Standard Top Speed: 97.2 kph Max Engine Rating: 295 Torso Movement: 100 degrees to each side. 15 degrees up and down. Arm Movement: 25 degrees to each side. 30 degrees up and down. Armor: 176 (Standard) Internal Structure: Endo-Steel Weapons & Equipment: Left Arm: Flamer x2 Left Torso: Machine Gun x2 Right Torso: Machine Gun x2 Right Arm: Flamer x2 Hardpoints: Left Arm: 2 Energy Left Torso: 2 Ballistic Right Torso: 2 Ballistic, 1 AMS Right Arm: 2 Energy Heat Sinks: 11 Double Jump Jets: 5 (6 Max) ECM Capable?: No Module Slots: 2 Movement Archetype: Small 30% C-Bill Bonus

That sentence...I do no think it means what you think it means.

MG's and Flamers...yeah...that's a real heavy hitter. I understand that we'll all swap them out for medium lasers, but a part of me is sad that the REALLY COOL looking video is ignoring how useless the stock will be.

With 4 ML and 4 MG's though...this 'lil guy will be a badass :)

GARTH IS BACK! HE'S ALIVE!

I will totally have fun in this 'mech! It's a beefed up Dakka-Mando. I just wish it's iconic loadout had more in-game functionality, especially considering how cool the effects look :)

cool video and I just need a little poke to fall for it...

So flamers - when I buy that thing I want to use it but can you do anything with 4 flamers? beside overheating yourself?

Annoy people. Put them on chain fire and you'll probably never overheat and keep the opponent close to shutdown.

And I probably will run: 2ML + 2 Flamers + 4 Masheenguns.

Because 2 Flamers should be good enough to make people cry on Terror Therma.

Griffin. Specifically the Griffin 1-S (the left shoulder launcher is distinct to it). Correcting myself. That's the Griffin's back toward us. Thought it was facing us when I skipped to that time index. It's either the 1-N or 3-M. Griffins have great cockpit views and either it or the Wolverine will be here for consumption by mid-month apparently alongside the Firestarters.

Far as flamers... Welp I think this answers whether or not I'll use a firestarter.

First time using it. Slugging and killing Spiders when they were still new and it taking more than half a second for the shot to leave the barrel after clicking! No lag compensation; when it really shined and things died.

Some awesome, leg broken, fairly recent usage of an AC/20 Raven (slipped into a link due to some language.)

XL180 engine required to have 3 tons of ammo, some JJs and a small laser. Engine is 5.5 tons.
I'm interested in knowing how you'll build it. :D

Someone sent me a message with vids of flamer Jenners totting 6 flamers. To that I say been there, done that, killed Atlases doing it... but back then flamers were actually dealing much less damage, against single armored targets, and could actually bring a mech to 100% heat and potentially heat lock them. At the time, you had a random chance of shutdown and damage at 80% and up with guaranteed shutdown at 100% heat, and about 103% heat was instant death due to massive popcorn ammo explosions. Of course, everyone had single heatsinks, too, and standard engines.


"PGI you need to fix this." And so they did. But not fixing the fact that flamers instantly had zero heat when you let go of the trigger. They fixed it by making flamers ultimately worthless as tangible weapon for the purpose of heating up enemies. ;)

So we'll see if the flamer fix mentioned here will work.
