What does the limited edition give you that the regular edition doesn't?

Can anybody tell me why hunchbacks are so slow? Max speed with speed tweak on my j model is 98. I can fit 5 ml and 2 srm 6 for some brawling action.

Now tell me why multiple heavy models can fit there max standard engines, go mid 80's with tweak, and hold wayyyyy more firepower?

I feel like if lights go around 130-160 on average, mediums should be from 90-120 with speed tweaks.

That leaves heavys from 50-90 ish, and assaults a bit slower.

hbks might not be the fastest mech around (however, 98 kph max are not shabby at all) but the torso twist angle is superior what makes them excellent brawlers in my eyes.

It is also uniquely named "grid iron limited edition", whereas the normal hero version is just "grid iron". This shows when targeted in game.

I get the feeling this sold poorly.

Seen a grand total of 2 in all my many drops since release.

Doesn't help that the name stretches half across the screen when targeted.

It's because mediums tend to use std engines while heavies very often use xl engines.

Yes, but how many Medium mechs have you seen? The game is currently very Assault heavy at the moment, so I'm often the only Medium mech on my team. Unless I happen to be driving a Grid Iron at that time, you wouldn't see it on my team. That's not the Grid Iron's fault though, merely the lack of Medium mechs.

Let me put a 300 in a grid iron and I would of been sold. Hunchbacks are my favorite mech, as well as mediums, despite there odd place in everything. I just think a hunch should be able to top out at 110 if we have a centurion that can go 130+. If any variant was to go faster, it should of been the Grid Iron. You pay real money for hero mechs, so it makes sense to give them a cool perk too like larger engine sizes.

Maybe my sarcasm detector is malfunctioning, but you could already do this with your 4G?

I saw one of these today and it showed up on targeting as "Grid Iron Limited Edition", which is hilariously dumb.

So don't target it, just means someone paid out to have a bobble head in a short skirt, and tells the world

Hunchbacks, like stalkers and Urban mechs were designed to be street fighters, so fast cross country speed wasn't required, in lore.

Sure we pay real money for them, but the perk is the extra c-bill increase

I hope you get your wish for a 300 motor.

That way, either you'll be toting a machine gun and 2 lasers or better yet, an XL 300. Either way, I'll be blowing your "fast" behind into pieces 2 minutes into the match.

That's fine I have no problem with that, but at least give me a choice for a bigger engine.

That's actually something that I have never understood - well, that and the heat system. I guess it is to give different chassis uniqueness, but why limit engine size? If I want to put very limited weapons and a huge engine, why can't I?

I guess I just really don't like arbitrary rules.... Why not have engine size be open, but "slow" mechs have a speed tweak to get less out of an engine, and "fast" mechs get more?

I think it should be open within reason. But if Cent D goes to 390, I think at least one variant for each mech should have the ability to house a larger engine.

Please dont  Result would be "max XL + PPCs" for every mech. There is not much more meta atm besides high pinpoint damage, and adding even more speed to that would be another step via CoD... :)

Who uses a bunch of PPCs anymore? ACs are the prevalent weapon, with a PPC or two as a sidearm to complement if at all. On top of that, the bigger the engine, the less the weight available for weapons. It all balances out as far as weight. If anything, the issue you are talking about has nothing to with engines and instead is the Front-Loaded Damage (FLD) issue that has been the problem for quite a while now.
