Okay i don´t know if this was post before, but an easy way to fix jump sniping is to let the cockpitshake last the whole time you are flying. I now also this would nerf lights who are fire their weapons on a fly by, but they weren´t supposed to attack bigger targets in the beginning.

I want to hear oppinions of the toppic.

And sorry for any grammar mistakes.

Ok, its nice that you are looking for a way to fix something (although there are hardly any Jumpsniers around nowadays (you hardly see more than 1 or 2 in any given game as opposed to earlier where you would see 1 or 2 mechs per game which werent Jumpsnipers).

But as for this part....

NO... just no. This automatically invalidates any and every statement you make.

I think that lights are not suppost to take an atlas head on. That was what i meant. I would prefer to look at the movenment rules from BT an ajust them for MWO. So if you move you cant aim very good and if you jump there is cockpit shake all the time you are in the air.

They used to do this and I believe there were more than a few complaints from a certain segment of the population so they changed it to were it only shakes when the jj's are on

The amount of poptarts is rapidly returning to previous levels before cockpit shake. atleast that has been my experience. But no worries, I just do the best I can

Jump Sniping happened in BattleTech lore... 0.001% of the time. Or less! Give the top 5 players the ability to Pop Tart and that should make it as common as it was in Canon! :P

There's nothing to fix, the shake on the way up is exactly what was needed and nothing more

Nerfing JJs that would also hurt Jenners isn't really a bad thing. The jenner is so far ahead of its peers, it can use a nerf.

I understand you don't have an issue with poptarting. But are you trying to argue that it is not OP even though it has been the best way to play the game since the first round of PPC buffs in like 2012?

I saw ZERO pop tarting in Closed Beta and I played 4-6 hours a night and 10+ on weekends. Pop Tarting didn't become POPular till Open Beta

I think if brawling were where it were supposed to be that perhaps they would better be able to counter poptarts by getting up in their faces. Once SRMs actually do proper damage this could start swinging in this direction because there are so many mechs that are currently gimped mostly due to SRMs being so terrible (well there's also that many medium mechs are way too big but thats another topic). Basically you'd potentially see more mechs on the field like the Quickdraw and the recent Griffon and Wolverines really shine if SRMs were as potent as they once were.

Fix as in implying they're broken.

JJ shake already effects lights. It's all scaled on size of JJ use accordingly so heavier JJ's incur more shake to larger Mechs. And has apparently less effect to lights due to their short range weapon use anyhow. This since any aim loss will effect the more acute weapons fire at range.

Just tweak the effect up a little if you then want to make Jump "Sniping" more difficult. It won't really effect light harassers using their weapons.

Jumpsniping essentially started when hit detection was fixed and non-laser weapons were able to effectively be used at range... That was the key missing piece.

Then it went away for a bit when they fixed JJ's to have more realistic thrust....

Then it came back when they changed JJ's to give you all of the thrust in a front loaded burst, which again enabled you to pop up real fast.

Honestly, at this point, I don't really see jumpsniping as a huge problem.

Actually, it's the other way round. He doesn't have to prove you a liar. You have to prove that you tell the truth (or get further witnesses).

Ya, I totally have gameplay footage from NDA.

However, the Cataphract was added in November and Open Beta started in October. So I apologize for calling you a liar.

As I never shoot video I cannot provide proof. Second even if I did the required level of proof i insurmountably stupid! I never once saw Pop Tarts, nor heard any complaints on our comms till Open Beta. Whether you believe me or not is not my concern. You called me a liar incorrectly, and I have rebutted.

You don't think that the large imbalances between variants is not in part created by mechs that have JJs and mechs that don't; which is tied to their use in jump shooting?
