Quick question for you. I just got back into the gauss rifle and I am having trouble with the audio portion of operation. I have pretty severe vision issues and cannot rely on the green indicator when charged so I was using the sound to use them properly. The audio now is so muted I cant hear it at all most often. Tried messing with settings but no luck.

Any ideas or suggestions. Seems anything the vision impaired could use PGI craps all over.

Yeah its pretty terrible right now, I hope they improve not only the cues but make other improvements too such as reducing the charge up time and increasing the held charge time.

Seems to me they should add in a big changing indicator just under the crosshair. That would be the most logical soultion IMHO. As it is now, it really could be a lot more user-friendly...

OP to overcome the charge up sound issue I group a laser( either an LLAS on bigger mechs or a MED LAS on smaller) and when the laser is finished its burn let the Gauss fly. The laser acts a pinpoint designator as well. Why not a TAG; it's not as visable at range as even a MED LAS. This has brought new life back to my beloved Gauss and several builds that got shelved and has brought Gauss back to my med range, brawl game. Give it a try and good hunting.

If you have poor vision should you be a sniper? I am not trying to be rude, you may be better suited for a different battlefield role. Would it help to have gauss assigned to more than one weapon group? Are you able to see the contrast between yellow and green from weapon group six to the lower right of the reticle?

As I'm sure has been posted elsewhere, little green boxes light up by weapon group around your crosshairs when your gauss button is depressed. They're color coded: chargeable (yellow), charged (green) or cycling (red). Bind it to all unused weapon groups and you can get multiple lights. Easy visual indicator right where you're looking anyway. No sound needed.

playerbase work arounds are so bad tho.. Whats sad is that the charge sound etc is a GREAT sound fx its just too soft and many have complained about it and we get nothing.
i truly believe the devs barely play the game. If there was ONE guy who used a gauss the problem would be identified IN house and rectified.

Glad it worked for you. I just tried it myself for the first time today and it makes the GR usable for me, too.

Aren't you letting nostalgia get to you now? I also like the old betty but is she really that much better than young betty?

Dunno if there is a better betty, but there is certainly a best Betty.
