SRMs are registering properly, but their damage is so low, compared to their splash damage-era, that we think that they don't register like they should?

Kind of scary, isn't it?

We'll never know. The island doesn't get regular news.

Nah, they aren't registering, even at the level they are now if you blow 3 SRM 6's at someone at optimum range to limit spread, it should really hurt. But sometimes....nothing.

no they just dont reg reliably. if you hit and it flashes you can do tons of damage but sometimes there's nothing damaged, like shooting fire crackers.

I have been playing SRMs non-stop since early closed beta. I didn't stop when they were doing 1.5 damage. The last several patches feel like they have made slight improvements, except for the patch with the saber mech delivery that one made it worse. This most recent patch feels like it really improved hit registration with SRMs. Obviously I can't prove anything but when I get 5 kills and over six hundred damage with three Artemis srm 6 and 1 medium laser I can't help but think that, yes, hit registration has improved. Even assuming it has improved I will not say it is perfect or that it won't go back again, but for right now I'm wrecking people with my SRMs.

The thing is it is random. There will be games where they are fine...then suddenly I'll go a game where they don't register at all.

Right now...games really don't matter...assuming we ever have CW and you are dropping into a match knowing that the outcome can have real ramifications, do you take a mech with SRM's knowing they may just not work?

I agree with you 100% but my point is that since the patch this last Tuesday I have had nothing but good games. The few times I had bad games were because I stumbled into the whole enemy team and got shot to bits fast. There was nothing wrong with my SRMs I just got drilled by several enemy. I'm not gonna blame my mistakes on the hit registration boogeyman.

That's fine, I don't think anyone is questioning that we have bad games that have nothing to do with weapons.

But SRM's...and honestly weapons in general, still seem to have issues. Especially when you start seeing high pings involved.

SRM's are just the most noticeable right now.

This. Ive seen SRMs fail to register as much as 50% of their damage.

Yea man, many many people are having problems while some are not it seems. Some are no doubt just not paying enough attention. However, due to various network/network code factors along with pgis HSR (which I suspect is still half broken) it is quite possible that some will have massive issues (5 srm 6 doing 0 damage to a stationary stalker 5 meters away happens to me reguarly) and other will have none.

It's true that SRM2 isn't really that much damage (especially if 1 missile misses) but when you start firing SRM4 or SRM6 salvos at somebody that's at least noticeable damage even to the heaviest of mechs.
