Old rig:
Phenom Quad core
HD7850
16gigs DDR3 1600mhz DRAM

Match Start FPS: 60
combat FPS: 30

I upgraded my system to :
FX8320 eight core CPU
GTX 770 4gb OC edition GPU
Same RAM
Match Start FPS: 120

Why am I still getting this low frame rate on this bad *** card?

40-50fps, old Radeon HD5870. (i7 2600, 8GB 1333)

You should be doing better - that's the card I want to upgrade to.

Starts at about 30 FPS, drops to 18ish during normal combat, or down to 10 when there are lots of lurms about.

And this is on min settings...I'm a little envious.

2 Gigs of DDR2
2.5 tri core
HD 6850

oh hell, I have a 780 TI and MWO runs the same as when I had a 580 GTX. Upgrading your GPU won't help.

I get 48-60fps, whats weird is game settings and overclocking doesn't seem to change this. I can set everything to the highest settings or set them all to med-high (haven't tried lower yet) and this happens. It also seems like it isn't really so much a fps drop as it is a pause to the game. Like my fps counter does drop but the game doesn't just become less smooth it flat out seems to pause and then skip a bit. I was thinking maybe lag but my ping seems stable and is usually low 30's. So I was thinking maybe my psu is going since its the only old part in the computer but it passes a occt stress test and I didn't see this problem in video card stress tests.

i7 4770k (stock)
MSI AMD 7870 ghz edition (stock or ~12% overclock)
8GB DDR3
Asus Z87-A
PNY XLR-8 SSD

So I don't know what is up.

Core i7-2600k @ 3.8ghz
Corsair DDR3 @ 2000mhz
Nvidia GTX 670 Core: 1228 Memory: 1502
Asus P8-Z68 Gen 3
Samsung 830 128gb SSD

Fraps: River City (Day), Conquest, was in a Spider 5K, getting in close
Avg: 59.515 - Min: 35 - Max: 94
Everything @ High - except Post Processing: Low, AA: None 1920x1080

Fraps: River City (Night), conquest, Spider 5K
Avg: 56.919 - Min: 31 - Max: 102
Everything @ Very high - except Post Processing: low, AA: None 1920x1080

Fraps: Caustic Valley, Assault, Spider 5D
Avg: 53.928 - Min: 26 - Max: 79 (some odd stutter in the middle of the game)
Everything @ Very high - except Post Processing: low, AA: None 1920x1080

Benchmarks started as soon as the power up sequence ended and you could start moving, ended as soon as the mechs stopped moving. These benchmarks are ones where we won and I was able to survive through the entire battle as to keep it the same as much as possible.

this game is very heavily cpu bound, it often takes a seriously overclocked i5 or i7 to raise fps, your awesome graphics card is being bottle necked by your processor. try turning off shadows as it's one of the more heavily cpu bound effects.

Old System: i7 920 2.6 GHZ
16GB RAM
2x Geforce 460 GTX
1920x1080 all settings on low with textures on medium to keep the game pretty still. Game ran at 50-60FPS but with a first gen i7 CPU and those older DX11 cards, it was to be expected.

i73930 6 core (12 HT) 3.2 GHZ
8GB ram (currently)
2x Geforce 770 GTX
1920x1080 all settings maxed
I get a fixed 60 FPS on all the maps with the exception of a few of the newer ones (more detail in them then in the old ones).

From the looks of it, it really is your running an AMD CPU still, even there newest one they have out, is outdated as Intel has passed them by miles a few years ago. As this game is still very CPU reliant upgrading the cards will help some but its a case by case basis.

Biggest thing I have noticed is the higher your clock speed of your CPU is, the better this game responds. I mean, I changed 2 major things (both CPU and GPU) and got a major change in frame rate, and the computer doesn't even blink an eye when its all on very high.

Try turning Environment to Low, keeping the other settings the same. Most maps, it should give you a big boost in FPS.

Yeah I think its enviroment on very high that will drop me below 60fps. (I limit it to 60 via cfg neway) Without limiting it will goto about 120fps at mechstartup, drops to about 80 while moving, down to maybe 60 in a big fight or something.....

My vid card is probably worse than most who have posted as well.........which is weird because they also getting less frames with somewhat similar cpu's...........

I7 4770K
GTX275 (palit version or whatever it is....it came OC'ed basically...)

I get 60fps while locking the frames to 60 in game.....in a fight it may drop to maybe 50 or so but not much lower.

Only things I have on high are Objects and Shaders.

Rest are on either Low or medium.

Running on all Very High its about 40-50 fps, but I notice some stuttering when settings are like that so yeah I never use it like that. (MSI shows pretty much 99% gpu usage on all VH settings...which is why it stutters...)

edit: I forgot, I also do not run fullscreen or at max res. Would be the reason it seems my 275 is outperforming higher cards......you guys prolly running max res + fullscreen...

Max res is 1920x1080 for me however running at that I will get 30-40fps with drops to 25 or lower sometimes and close to 90% gpu usage. So I run windowed at urm, 1440x900 or something like that....close to that res.....

HERE look at this thread for some answers you also need to sort v-sync in CCC

You can limit the fps to 60 by opening notepad (might need to do it with admin rights so right click notepad and click run as administrator) and in notepad type

sys_Max_FPS = 60

Then go to File > save as and navigate to your main mwo install folder (default on a 64bit OS is C:\Program Files (x86)\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online) or for 32bit (C:\Program Files\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online)
For the name type

user.cfg

And under the name change the "Save as type" to All files.

Doing that and turning off vsync seems to have helped with my pausing problem but it is still there and I'm still getting under 60fps at times.

Is there something that makes it so the game needs a overclocked i5/i7 even though the game doesn't show much cpu usage? I have a i7 and with my current settings I'm only seeing around 40% cpu usage. Sometimes one core will show heavy usage but its not hitting 100%.

Nvidia GTX 660ti Lightning GPU
i5 4670 CPU

Graphics set to very high

Tranquil FPS: 60
Combat FPS: 40-45

When I first installed the card a few patches ago I was getting constant 60fps except maybe in river city which would, on occasion, drop to about 45.
