Clan Weapons On Is Mechs

don't care to go further into that,
all i want to know is simple
did they state clan weapons will be equip-able on IS mechs?
im thinking obvious yes. but why am i skeptical i don't know.

So why not you say? Well because of balance and end game. If everyone can just put clan weapons on IS mechs then IS weapons would no longer ever be used. So I think what they are going for is making clan mechs themselves have some negative aspects, like not being able to adjust ferro, endo, or your engine. I think that may be a great compromise since the IS customization would then be wide open and thus your choice as to which you prefer.

However they have said the likelihood is, we won't be able to put clan tech on IS mechs, but we WILL be able to put Clan Mechs in to service as IS/Merc players.
It makes sense, since clan weapons can then have many of their advantages, but be balanced against weaknesses of the chassis' (IE. Fixed Armour values/Engines)

They might very well fail at that, but we don'T eve know which direction they fail - maybe they overnerf Clan Tech and then every Clanner is scrounging the battlefield for IS loot.*

yeah f that. we all going clan mechs cause they will be better.
obvious reason is obvious.
i mean seriously. IS mechs should be able to equip w/e weapons since they are hard point restricted..
I won't be surprised of seeing 10 + weapon system lights once clans drop... there is no balance. IS mech should be able to equip clan tech.. or simply put. once reasonable clan mechs come avail for c-bill, that will be the end of IS. ( IN ANY competitive environment)

There is no balance to be found if yyou mix the techs, and it's not down to PGI to change that.
One exception though:
The normal SRMs with Artemis may be preferred over the clan streak SRMs, simply because you can aim the first in the geeneral region you want to hit.

I'd prefer it if this level of detail were eventually added. It will make less of a difference in MWO than it did in TT since the plan is to change Clan equipment into something with 'other' advantages vs IS tech instead of clear superiority.

There is a big reason IS should not have Clan tech: IS mechs will be, for the most part, better than clan mechs. You can frontload your armor, change your engine and mount only the 10 engine DHS. Clan mechs cannot change their armor values, have a minimum amount of heatsinks (only some varients) they need to equip and are stuck with whatever engine that CT has equpped. Their only advantage in MWO is their weapons, which are lighter and take less slots. Do not let IS mechs able to mount clan weapons, there would be no reason to take the clans mechs!

Actually they will be.... eventually. But to start I don't want to actually have access to Clan Weapons.

Interestingly the restrictions applied by Omni tech limitations may mean that clan weapons may still be more effective still than IS tech even if more balanced than TT values since the Omni tech limits would suggest this need for some arrangements of builds to have IS and Clan tech total balanced when considering the Mech and tech used.
If IS and Clan tech were simply balanced completely without having the need to apply Omni tech limits or these limits nor really being of any significance then IS and Clan tech would be on a par and mix tech possible, in theory.
