I have had several games where players are intentionally maliciously giving away non afk teammates locations. One was a teammate jenner who was shut down waiting to ambush one of 4 enemy mechs left. He was the last mech left and one of our teammates gave away his location intentionally and laughed about it when told him that was prohibited.
A few days later I as in fight. Last mech on my side vs 9 enemy mechs. Was no way I was going to win that match. I was determined however to kill a few them and or stay alive till time ran out. I was piloting spider with ecm still intact. I doubled back on the enemy to sneak past their drag net. Then one the guys on my side starts giving away my exact location square location by square location. SO he can take his mech into the next match and his friends with him also made derogatory remarks as well. The enemy immediately join in on the hunt.
These players say they are in majority that you should suicide your mech when you realize you cannot win. I do not feel that way. Simply put in battletech mercenary units cannot afford to throw good mechs after bad. It is just game , however, economics, politically and on personal welfare would prohibit most players from suiciding in this manner. One guy did point our Kurita warriors are known to refuse to retreat and prefer dying in battle like ancient samurai. Yet even house Kurita at one point forbade such activity. The old battletech expression few years back sums it up. Life is cheap mechs are expensive.
Something I would be willing to pay good MC for each month is elite servers where policing for hacks, cheats, and bad team players was enforced better. It seems late night on the servers these players come out the woodwork. I understand we all get angry sometimes and yell at each other that doesn't affect game play per say. Giving away your teammates location so you can take your next mech to the next match. All since you have already died is not the same. Its same as cheating in my book.

Update just happened again. I survived after trying help my side win. I set up several ambush locs. Took out a pesky jenner that been fighting me whole match. As his team closed in I snuck to another area in crimison strait and set up an ambush on d5 location I was in like C6 I think it was. None other than one my own team mates starts reporting my ambush location. This in turn forces me to move location. He claims developer has stated when you know you cannot win go ahead suicide as your wasting everyone's time. I want to talk to this developer and see how he/she said this and how that is spirit of the game. You count our kills and loss ratio even in bad connection games. You tell us we cannot give away bad teammates locations. Yet there is developer saying hey if some guy is ambushing mechs and cant possibly win go ahead and give away his location by all means get him killed even if he is not afk or disconnected. Does not seem fair. If you try stay alive and kill as many as you can your bad player is what people are saying.

That kind of behaviour is prohibited and you should report it.

There was a thread where someone asked if "Should we report players who suicide in a hopeless situation to end the match sooner?" In that thread, a forum moderator said something to the effect of "This doesn't break the spirit of the game and isn't going to have any actions if reported". He by no means mentioned that it was "okay to give away friendly positions".
Basically, the stance is on suicide when it looks hopeless and you are the last mech was "By the letter of the rule, yes you can. Should you? Probably not worth your time to report as it isn't really a problem."
Giving away a teammates position to the enemy is always a reportable offense.
(PS: I agree with the "go down fighting" idea and disagree with the concept of suicide.)
Personally, they should know that they can press esc and exit that match and launch into another match right away. Or just wait the few moments for you to ambush and eventually die... You aren't effecting their game play, and they shouldn't effect your game play. It is not your fault they all died and you lived (at least I don't think so). Screen shot when this happens and report.

if going out of bounds was reportable, they should just put inivisble walls there instead of OOB.
They actually do have invisible walls further out (and in random snow drifts) just bring those walls in and it wont be a problem.

Report the offenders with a screen shot if possible to Support@MWOmercs.com as the person stated about suicide is definitely false and reporting your location is against the rules.

These are the rules for griefing in MWO.
Follow them in letter and, more importantly, in spirit.
If you come across someone who is violating these rules, report them to support@mwomercs.com. If available please add the following information:
- Name of offending player
- Type of offense
- Map played
- Date, time and timezone
- Other players involved (witnesses)
- Screenshots
- Links to video or other material that might prove usefull to the GMs to resolve the issue.
I'm closing this thread here, as it isn't really patch feedback.
