I guess I won't mention the vast number of Locusts that have met their end due to my spl locusts.
(I am a monster, I know)

So, all those Locust stickers on your LCT-1E aren't really stickers at all, are they? Here I thought it was whimsical, light-hearted joy over your favorite 'mech, with pictures of said mech plastered all over it.
No.
That wasn't it at all, was it?
They're kill-stamps.
You really are a monster. You'd even kill your own.
Try to justify it however you like. We've seen the truth. You can't hide now.

Well done. Locusts actually will eat their own IRL, if their own begin to lag amidst the swarm. GJ <o

However... I had a Locust manage to take off my right arm and right torso in my Zeus 9S leaving me with no guns... He missed his team dying though and my team took him out for not noticing. He had amazing luck though as I'd taken his CT armor and dropped him to red internals earlier... But up close he managed to avoid my LPLs and my MGs...

We did the normal thing on tremoline, but I thought, what if I ran behind them. Since there was a catapult A1, Battlemaster 1S and kintaro 18 on the team.
So I ran and got behind the heavies going into the valley of death below the stargate. Then my spotting counter started to go up. While they were being peppered by LRMs I would add mine and some ML, but after a bit someone turned around and saw the lone locusts just standing there right behind them firing one ML. (yep I fired all 360 LRMs into those sots.)
So now it was the locust chase, but I noticed the LRMs tapering off so it was time to high tale it back to the safety of the team., but I could not resist stopping and letting the 4 remaining enemy mechs pass me. (I am not below shutting down behind some terrain to do this) I walked behind them fired the laser spraying it into a few backs, and planted an air strike so that when he would turn around he would see the nice smoke too late. That arty strike got me a few hits and component destruction's , but I did not stay to see, just saw it on the HUD scroll up.
When I came back my team had engaged them again, and it was going to be fast so I just strolled back in, no one firing at me and was just firing as fast as that ML could go.
I had no kills but 3 kills most damage dealt with 11 assists with 486 damage. Lets see, 360 LRMs at 300 m or less (more like 230), one ML and a very well placed Airstrike. Not too bad. OH almost forgot, 32 spotting assists. My health was still above 80%

LCT-IIC-8 has a top speed of 240kph. Somehow I don't see PGI being too keen on putting it in x.x (yes, that's right. 240 kph. It's a 25-tonner with a 350 extra-extra-light engine!)
And some of the others have 8 E hardpoints. 8 C-ERSL and a metric crapton of DHS. Given that it'd run min 171kph, you'd have a really fast laser boat which hits harder than an ACH. Can you see the crying potential?

*Hugs the poor Locust IIC* No, we need them!
More seriously... The three original variants are 129.6 kph (standard 200 engine), so it's equal to the Hankyu (ACH). While as a IIC it can get a bigger engine, I expect the same cap as the Commando 1D (which comes stock with a 200 and maxes at a 240). As an extra note a standard 200 is 11.5 tons and a XL 240 is 11 tons, so switching to a XL engine is likely the first thing a Locust IIC owner would do and gain half a ton (a XL 200 is 7.5 tons, though 129.6 is probably to slow for a 25 tonner with no JJs in most cases). With the basic three variants being 9E, 1E+4M, and 3E configurations.
The 9E prime variant is likely to run extremely hot. Since 8 ERSL alone would generate ghost heat and even when they change the heat system I doubt it will be that much better. I have a Nova build with 10 ERSL and even fired five at a time with 26 DHS it runs super hot. The 9E Locust IIC can't do 26 DHS, it would be lucky to carry 12. I'd expect 4 SPLs and a ERML to be a more common setup.
Besides, It's a Locust... It's not humanoid and is likely to die as easily as any other non-humanoid design... Remember it also only has the armor of a Myst Lynx or Commando and would have no 'shield arms'.

is it bad that I feel a burning drive to assert my Locust piloting supremacy whenever I see another Locust on the enemy's side of the field? I've chased down and killed Peanut Butters in my 1V LPL-monster. Hell, I've murdered 1Es in my ERPPC PB. Got to love those lucky RST crits.

just the other day I thought that I had made a big mistake when in my dual LPL raven 4X that goes 113km/h I came across a raven 3L (usual build) which was fine but then a locust appears and I thought I was done for but I killed them both just casually and that shouldn't happen.

I think it might be like that for anyone who identifies strongly with a particular chassis. It's not the Locust for me though (okay, once in a while, if I'm piloting one). It's the Griffins for me.
I've got literally days of PUG time in my Griffins, more seat time than any other chassis except maybe the Hellbringer (I run it mostly in CW, so the stats are incomplete).
The Hellbringer gets my attention because it's dangerous though. The Griffin does, well, because it's a Griffin.
I still instinctively prioritize Griffins unless there's something especially nasty that demands more attention. All things being equal though ... yeah, priority target for sure. Griffin pilot's pride, or somesuch.

....And you run across the mother of all SPL 1E murderballs. 8 LCT-1E on the other team syncdropped in pug queue, all equipped with SPLs.
Our team had 4 ACH and 4 FS9. The locusts still won.

Please tell me you screencapped this.
That seems like it would have been soooooooooo funny.

Unfortunately, I did not :/ I was far too drunk to even think about taking a screencap. Was far too busy laughing while trying to decide which of the little insects to blow up using a trial assault...
Also, the moment when you take a panic snapshot using dual ERPPCs on a kitfox when you see an Oxide crest the hill, and it ends up being a headshot. Feels good, mannnn....

Wonder how I missed this post ...
The cockpit of my WLF-1A is identical, using all freebies from the Bag of Many Things.
I was levelling them over that weekend, and couldn't resist doing an "Irish Wolfhound" theme for my 6ML hunter-poker.
