HPG Manifold. That trick works great in locusts, commandos, and spiders. Especially if you are carrying ecm. I think jenners can fit under there too. I am not sure about Ravens and Firestarters though.

hung with a couple of ravens and we slaugthered a poor Jager that wandered from the herd at the start. then one by one they started trickling in as our team also showed up in the same fashion. nice to see the FF going over my head intead of into my back after all this time leveling cents and vindis. did the Locust hit and run, and run, got stuck a few times (don;t know the map that well yet), hid under some ramps and and knocked a side torso off a whale while the rest of the team finished it.
more missiles on anything red that moved, got a hunchy's arm. score was +/- 2 the whole way. then found a poor friendly jager locked in combat with a firestarter and warhawk. jager actually lasted a while considering it was either stuck or legged (or there were two jagers). next thing i knew our 10-8 lead was now 10-10. a friendly shadowhawk was still left with poor lil ol' locust- who had just ran out of ssrm ammo (thus the increase to 2 tons afterwards mentioned above). managed to leg the warhawk and shadow killed it. then firestarter pretty much focused solely on the hawk as if a single ML locust was no threat to it's 4ML or so but it was pretty much down to internals. i ended up taking a leg and the hawk finished it. no arty, no airstrikes used.
final tally 0 kill 9 assists (best by 2) 385 dmg and just under 80% health (shawk had 4 kills and 5 assists with 600+ dmg- was the team MVP- no one else had more dmg or kills- two guys had 2 kills i think). not bad for a first run. of course i was worn out by the end and had to load up my dual alrm 15 kintaro to relax a bit after that match.

All the IS lights can - but you have to hit just the right angle for the bigger ones.
Haven't tried it with the Adder - but the Kit Fox is overly bulky.
(Adder probably would not - since it is about the same bulk)
Edit: to/too/two of DOOM
just use "overly"

This is really fun, and a little mean maybe, when you find an inexperienced assault pilot 'safely' backed up against the ramp shielding his back and he can't figure out why his legs are getting blown off. (I love light mechs )

Already have, and keep myself locked up in a small cage next to my computer where I can mock myself while I run around screaming like a lunatic tricking half the enemy team into following me for the "easy kill" letting my team maul the other half.
Sometimes myself plays sudoku while it is going on, but I try to keep that from happening.

Like a Spider 5V
I kept 2ML on mine, but stuck 2SRM4 in the arms

the LRMCust is a great laugh every now and then. you should really just leave all the armor on the arms. every bit of armor is really needed. What is the point of using the 1M if you don't put SRMs (or SSRMs) on it? might as well just using 1E or 3M
I also believe AMS is wasted tonnage on these

2CT Energy.
Not as much use as on other chassis - but I have found myself alive with just those two more often than I care to think about.

Really tho. You could give a monkey a ML+LPL Timberwolf and he could probably get 2 kills and 400 damage. But every game you have like that in a Locust brings you closer to Nirvana.

This is one of my favorite things to do in Pug drops.
The thing is that a lot of mechs just by virtue of where their hard-points are located and how convergence works will have trouble shooting at you even if they know you are in there. There are similar "bug holes" on several of the maps and I make a point to know 'em.

don;t recall if i have the AMS in mine and using a slightly smaller engine but managed to cram an ASRM 2 in with the dual MPLs. have tried other set ups but with xl engine FF and endo i actually run out of slots to put stuff in than tonnage with some of my experimental builds. i'd have the space for that extra ton of ammo say but no spot to put it. or squeeze in that extra missile launcher but no spot for ammo.
