- Who we are -
The Carrion Crows are one of the oldest and most tenacious corps in the game. The outfit itself was founded by Vulix in the twilight of the Beta days which now makes us one of the oldest mercenary units still active in MWO. We've gone through many trials and tribulations; challenges that caused others to disband. These lessons have given us a unique approach to the creation of a solid, long-term and prosperous community which fosters both a casual atmosphere for the average player as well as a competitive edge for the mechwarrior looking to test his mettle upon the field of battle.
- What sets us apart -
Aside from being one of the oldest corporations in the game, therefore being one of the most stable, we are first and foremost your averages Joes from around the world. We have jobs and we have other priorities. As such, unlike other units that wish to emulate a militaristic community with a rigid power structure, we are probably the only community that could be described as a tribal democracy, In other words, each and every crow has a say in the day to day affairs of the unit, as well as a share of the responsibility. Naturally, there are some with more responsibilities, such as maintaining relations with other corporations and infrastructure maintenance as well as maintaining the peace and mediating the infrequent disagreements. It's also worth noting that we never take the easy way, we always look to face the greatest challenge and rise above it.
- Our Vision -
Where others concentrate on the creation of a powerful corporation in the present, limited, game universe, we make preparations for the future where being a powerful battlefield force will only be one part of the equation. We've thought long and hard about the shape of things to come and we've both amassed the necessary infrastructure, as well as assets to insure both access to the best equipment at the lowest prices as well as the most lucrative contracts when Community warfare is launched. Our goal is not to be the most talked about corporation with the most victories under it's belt. Although undeniably a goal we will pursue, we aim to concentrate primarily on stability, growth as well as giving every crow an equal opportunity to both be a responsible member as well as a thoughtful leader. The ultimate goal is to grow to be a corporation that not only has the lowest possible tax rate (as taxes are going to be a major part of the game once community warfare hits), but also one that's equipped to rise to any challenge.
- Why should you join -
Again, owing to our open and unorthodox nature, we've decided that acceptance within the murder isn't something that's done through an application. We do not feel that this is a job, where qualifications are necessary. We feel that kindred souls congregate and, like the crows that took us in when we were looking for a home, we owe it to future crows to be just as open and inviting. We pride ourselves on turning raw recruits into outstanding pilots that have contributed many things to the community itself. This philosophy of openness also extends to our competitive side. We feel that everyone who wishes to represent our banner should have a fair chance to do so.
- What you can expect of us -
You can expect from us what any human being should expect of others, namely respect, courtesy as well as an experienced cadre of veterans ready to help you grow as a Mechwarrior. Beyond our friendly and relaxed atmosphere, you can expect full access to a high quality TeamSpeak3 server as well as a fully functional website. We also have a nasty habit of always looking forward to our next in house 12v12 nights as well as our devilish 1v1's. We've also been known to host in corp tournaments with prizes.
- What we expect of you -
As a Carrion Crow, a member of the unit, we expect you to act as such. We expect you to want to participate, to help in the formation of friendly bonds. We do not tolerate exclusion or ridicule as well as any kind of hurtful harassment. We do not care about your availability, all we care about is that if you're playing MWO, you at least try to do so with other Carrion Crows. Furthermore, we expect every crow to be responsible for the maintenance of the corporation. It being a democracy, we expect you to have an active part in the running of the corporation. Be it recruitment, planning or even leading competitive drops, we not only encourage everyone to take part, but expect it. On a lighter note, you can also expect to be immortalized by our very own Johnny Redburn with a one of a kind picture!
In short, we're a unit like no other, we're warm, open and friendly. We don't make you jump through hoops to join and when you do we don't put you at the bottom of an imaginary totem pole. We don't expect anything else from you than what you will receive from others, that is, as much help as you can without making your experience less pleasant. So join up, you've got nothing to lose and everything to gain.
