Time Ratio

I'm not particularly well versed in old battletech but it looks like IS get no changes for another 7-8 years when the arsenal expands to include ERmlas, SSRM4/6, MRM, LBX/5&20, UAC2/10/20 etc.
I'm not saying that IS needs to get these as soon as the clans come out, but releaseing the clan packages and then not giving IS anything interesting to work with for the better part of a decade seems...undesirable.
Hopefully IS weapons will get a lasting tweak to balance them all out when the clan weapons are introduced which will tide things over for a while. but in the last few months the lack of gameplay change has made the game somewhat less interesting to me, and I can't imagine staying in love with a game that only releases new chassis but not new weapons for them to play with.
When do the rest of you think these toys will be released? We already have mechanics for them in game, so adding the variety should be doable in that regard. Even if Ultra and rotory might need to be switched in name.

The other question is: What is the value to following the timeline 1:1? Is it because rapid changes could be overwhelming or destabilizing or create too many balance problems to deal with at once? Is it because it takes that much time to develop these things and add them to the game?
Regardless, drawing the line at 1:1 seems a bit arbitrary. I'm not sure there needs to be a line at all.

I think we gave up following the 1:1 timespan some time back.

I thought so too but the game info page say it's still 1:1 and that 2014=3051 although there was no 3051 new years event. And since clans get all these weapons upfront I feel like we would be missing them for IS. As it is Is needs a bit of rebalance for a good portion of its arsenal but more options is more fun as long as they can be balanced.

IIRC, the Inner Sphere had at least limited access to captured Clan OmniMechs no later than November of 3050, which according to the 1:1 timeline would have been last Thanksgiving. I don't recall any BT-canon reason for Clan Mechs to be introduced in June of 3051.

They abandoned the 1:1 timeline a while back

We have already passed the time of Operation revival/Clan Invasion from the timeline.
Readjusting the timeline in the future to meet with development is their plan now.
OCTOBER 2014 is the conservative esitmate that PGI gave themselves as to when CW will be here.
That's OCTOBER 2014.. Yep

Actually, if it were 3051, teh only lanners still here would be teh non-bloodnamed warriors running the garrisons, becasue anybody taht is somebody is at home electing a new ilKhan. The return on october.
Garrisons usually do not Initiate combat situations.

The DCMS captured Clan tech, yes.
I took them to 3053 to reverse engineer it. Until then, it was absoolutely useless.
If you`re going to use lore to support your argument, it helps to know the lore

Note: I am NOT saying or even implying that the timeline is still in effect, it is factually not, but has not been completely abandoned, either.. it is a guideline..
But I AM saying that your argument is inherently flawed to the point of being invalid, and 2 minutes on Sarna could have prevented that.

I'm reasonably familiar with the lore. I can't quote chapter and verse, but I know the basics.
We don't need to proceed to the point where Kurita reverse engineered Clan tech and created the first IS OmniMechs, nor do we need to proceed far enough in the timeline to allow for mixed tech. We only need to be past the point where captured OmniMechs were being used by a very few IS pilots, and IIRC we're technically past that point. At the very least, I'm reasonably certain that June has nothing to do with the IS using Clan tech in the timeline.

then moved to 3050 during community warfare
then release the clans at 3051

not a bad idea, except i'd suggest 3039 instead of 3025.. the war of 3039 was the first time the recovered star league tech (XL's, endo, guass, etc) started being used in limited quantities by the IS. in 3025 you'd basically be limited to the standard stuff.
while MWO definatelyskews the meta due to not limiting the amount of advanced tech involved, 3039 at least better fits the current state of mech options.
i'd just have the timeline 'on pause' until CW is out, then proceed with a faster ratio until the clan invasion.
as it stands now, once CW is out, they'll just have to do a 'reboot' of the timeline back to match the current set up.
