I was wondering if there would be interest from units to try and set up a scramble night. My though process is set a tonnage limit, pick and night and drop with as many other 12 man teams who want to play in that limit.

I would suggest we look to sync every 20 minutes, getting 6 to 9 matches depending on how long it runs for. If you think that your unit might be interested in something like this feel free to get message me, once we have a few teams interested we'll look to pick a night.

Does this mean no Steiner Scout Lances ™ (patents pending) (c) ® allowed?

We should make it a community wide thing. 720 tons is 60 per person, which I believe is where they will be starting as far as tonnage limits.

I want to say the 'official' statement on tonnage limits was 780 for a company, as 65T is more or less the middle ground for weights.

Average weight is 60. Heaviest mech is 100, lightest is 20. 120/2 is 60. Median weight depends on how you count. By chassis the Wolverine is the median at 55. If you count by variant (and don't count the champion mechs, which are the same as the regular variant) then the median is the Flame at 60.
I suspect the range will end up being something like 780 to 600 for a 12 drop; or 60 +5 or -10 per head. Solo pugging should allow any weight.
If/when lobbies are in place, then there should be an option to disregard weight limits. Just for lulz.

Jenners for everyone!
(This is why I'm not allowed to call matches.)

If you're going to do something like this, I'd say tonnage limits should be 600-780 like the previous post said. It sounds pretty good.

That said, when would it be done? My suggestion is sometime either Friday or the weekend, either bi-weekly, or if it proves popular enough, maybe even weekly, assuming people like the idea.

We have been training with 600-800 Tons droplimit. But this is becoming increasingly annoying when you end up against teams of fatties with their 2 Light, 2 Medium (55 Tons), 8 Assault setups. Usually when this happens over and over we ton up for the last round to slightly under their dropweight... flatten them and call it a night.

The thing about these noob teams is that they have absolutely no chance if the opponent has a similar dropweight than they do (either if we ton up or they ton down). You can usually tell by the amount of Artillery and airstrikes they require to get any significant damage during a fight if that situation occurs.

Sound like a good initiative, the weight increase after the implemetation of skirmish isn't something I enjoy.

Maybe we just make a week of 12-mans at 720 to 780. Then it's flexible tonnage wise and flexible schedule wise...

Circulate that through all the units. Obviously, not everyone will be interested but I'm assuming the more prominent units are looking to mix it up...those not wanting to play along will just add an extra challenge. I think any unit worth their salt can win despite being out-tonned...it will just be a harder earned victory.

Let's pick a date(s)??

How about we try and get a meeting going? Any unit who would be interested in this idea can come by our teamspeak and talk to me, I'm usually online from 7 or 8 est until around 1 est. I think all we need to do is set a fixed night and a fixed weight. If the idea takes off Tyger we could look to have it run all week, but I think to start trying to get a set night might be the place to start.

I would also say spread the word, we all have other units we scrim against or know units who are dropping 12 mans and are looking for something different then bringing as much weight as they can, the more units we get involved the more variety we'll see when we do start doing this.

I'm trying to keep this up on the front page, for anyone who likes the idea how does next weekend sound for a time to try and do it? I like Saturday myself but I'm sure we can be flexible.
