I've just slipped into UI 2.0 test preview and the glass was there. Problem is that it was rather dirty on the Misery I bought in the only match I managed to slip in due to ELO.

It looks immersive, but it should look clear, not dirty.. but heh "misery" is poor so..

Does the water in River City still flood your cockpit in a Locust?

My shift needs to end so I can learn these things.

Depends on which novel you're reading.

You're going to have to wait for the Windex & Squeegee module. ;)

On my YLW I barely noticed it, some smudgy side windows. But I tried out a Protector and it was very noticeable.

They said in their main post the effect would be more pronounced on the test servers then when it goes live.

I'm hoping that with this glass that they're able to implement a projected HUD onto the glass.

I desperately want this to happen. Along with actually using the currently multi-disfunctional displays spread throughout the cockpit.

People demand glass

People get glass

Other people complain about glass

Then.. The end of the world.

I want to be able to pull up somewhere and have some dirty looking guy step out and start washing it off mid-battle and then asking for 10c-bills

why, we already have a helmet-mounted display. a HUD would be redundant.

in the canon the older designs were some sort of clear plasteel, that darkend to stop pilots being blinded by ppc's and lasers being fired virtually in their face, the 'newer' designs gave this up and just went on purely a sensor image, build up on the inside of the cockpit

Same reason for implementing glass in the first place - immersion. It will just add to the illusion that you're sitting in the cockpit rather than you being the mech. All those intros for past MW games just have the MW with his neurohelmet looking through a HUD type projection in front of him.

Besides you can have both, like the HMCS in the F-16.

PLEASE tell me that you can turn it off.

It would destroy every MWO Video... Cameramechs would be rendered useless

Horrible thought indeed. I'd have to play the game to enjoy it instead of just watching cool videos. :P

I doubt a Battlemech would be using a HUD. Have you ever seen a real HUD?

Well, nevermind that, just watch my twitch video here as it is 100% authentic in relation to your physical movement/position and the glass:

http://www.twitch.tv...stman/c/3244743

go to 13:57 and watch from there

I'm using head tracking with Track IR btw so as I move my head and body through three dimensional space, you'll see me move in relation in the cockpit as it has 6 degrees of freedom.

Needless to say, any movement in the mech would be... bad for watching through the HUD.

HMCS all the way. ;) (which is also in that video)
