Hy,

Im a new player here , and i had no ideea lazers are such a drag and the total uslessness of the jester..so my question is can i get it replaced with a firebrand or even a golden boy i dont even care its cheaper ..anithing is better then this trash.

Did you try 2x PPC + 4 ML? I heard its a good build and also you can jump behind hill and snipe with ppcs btw its today popular thing jumping with ppcs (poptarting)

its sad i bought k2 and another one to elite it...but damn is so bad compared to the k2...even at elite

Well ballistic and energy are most powerfull combo today especially ACs+PPCs, well im sure there is a good build for jester, try searching forum for builds, see this also for builds

Strange, my impression is quite the opposite. I wish my K2 hat JumpJets to be anywhere near as viable as my JESTER (which btw. also has better hardpoint locations and is faster than a 2xAC10 + 4xML CPLT-K2 and still alphastrikes for the same damage).

lasers rule just need to get a lot of them + heatsinks and know the optimal distances like ive been using 4x medium lasers in one of my griffins arms and like 2 srms srms are nice and all but i tend to use the lasers for real nuke power 4xmed lasers in group fire at optimal range and a steady hand does ~20dmg electronic short range ac20 ;D dont buy into the meta hype just a bunch of goon geeks that think they know everything the road not taken makes all the difference you can make it work im kind of jealous i want a jester the paint alone is to die for heh and the whole cat line is far from obsolete hell i pre ordered phoenix without knowing what to expect and most of them are energy boaters ive learned to respect and fear lasers know the effective range and try not to spam high heat weapons when in a brawl keep to the mediums cause it screws your DPS

you wont be any happier with those two mechs either. it sounds like your having fotm issues more than viability problems with the jester.

i just started the game ...10 days ago or so...i bought some MC cuz i like to support a game that seems nice but get real..k2 > jester even i know that so the bonus cb is useless as u barely land ani damage with energy wepons /even ppc this mech is paper with all center hits even if u try to miss it

no need to atack me im just waiting for an answer so i know if i sell it for CB cuz that's more effective then the entire mech

Send an E-mail to the support address. They will help you with a refund. They will only do this ONCE, so you'd better be absolutely sure you want to waste the one refund on this purchase.

And for the record, lasers are quite effective as long as you can keep your aim on target for about a second. They don't do all of their damage in one pinpoint strike like PPCs and ACs do, which can be challenging. Lasers and SRMs are my favored weapons in MW:O and I do really well with them.

The Jester is a very good mech,it can be outfitted witha huge engine to make it very fast,and it has those 6 energy hardpoints that can carry meds or large lasers and even ppcs.It is a formidable mech that can take down any weight class.

On the whole I think most would agree ballistic weapons are somewhat overpowered, however the Jester is able to carry enough energy weapons that, combined with its big engine and jump-jets, make it a perfectly reasonable mech, and a very good money maker.

I doubt I would ever take it into competitive drops, but it's hardly bad.

Sums it up right there. Just give it some time. Learning to move correctly is the hardest thing to learn in this game. And that is what the jester excels at.

My K/d with a Jester one of my highest. Drop an XL 320 and run your butt around everyone while dropping PPCs on them. I average 400d + . you just need to learn to play with lasers. especially since you know the Dakka nerf has just started.

If you started this game 10 days ago I wouldn't blame the jester, even if you get said FOTM mech you'll probably not do much better, this game has a big learning curve to it, even chain fireing auto canon will make you over heat if you add tomany to the mix.

Endless alpha shots are going to shut down any mech, get into the training ground try the hot maps and the cold maps, learn what weapon combinations are best at each range and how fast you can shoot them, and then try things out on the battle maps with people shooting at you

I really don't like the K2 or Jester's hardpoint configuration. I would even rather use a Stalker for boating (granted the Catapults are faster for a smaller engine).

I would recommend using 2 LPLs and some SPL/MPLs. PPCs are just really hot.

Jester is an okay mech. Not a competetive build by any means. But can be fun to run just to do it.

Any catapult is going to be squishy in a brawl. Don't brawl with it, run and gun instead. Or PPC poptart if that work for you.

I generally run mine like a portly jenner, and have fun with it for the most part.
