So, tell me, how do you eliminate the horrible rubberbanding effect that happens every time you run past a group of enemy mechs using missiles?
I don't rubberband as far as I am aware (my lancemates would tell me if I did). SRM hit detection is bugged for everyone, regardless of ping.

I too believe in fair play.

I don't need anyone to tell me if I rubberband, I see it first hand. One second I'm running past a group of mechs, next minute I'm facing some direction else and need to turn around for a few (deadly) seconds to reorient. Any idea on how to fix this? This is a genuine question by the way and I know you are generally a decent person so please don't think I'm trolling.

Yeah this happens to me a lot too, I shot an almost cored Spider right in the face with a gauss and it literally took no damage, anywhere. Later I decided to try out the trial spider for a few rounds and took an ac/20 to the face yet no damage registered?

No wonder I see so many spiders running around being annoying little buggers.

I just shot a spider 5 times with an AC20 inside of 20m. Not a single one registered. My ping is 45. Spider's are totally broken. So....I'm going to play a spider every match until the day day UI 2.0 is supposed to come out. When that deadline passes with no UI 2.0, i shall uninstall MWO and wave goodbye to this broken game with zero game modes.

I just charge the first ballistic mech and see and take it down. It's awesome. First three matches, no less than 550 dmg each time. I stood right in front of an triple AC5 Cataphract and didn't move and took him down because his shots did not register lol. Everyone should be running a spider right now or a Highlander pop tart. Exploit the broken game to it's fullest.

It's an odd thing when one or two people say one thing and another (me) sees another entirely.
I, since hit box fix never have any issues killing spiders. When I play one, when I get hit I get damaged...every single time.

I wonder if your connection can affect this? Or is it merely selective perception at work?

Fair enough.

When you look at the post-match scoreboard, what does it show your average ping to be? If it's about 280 or lower, you shouldn't be experiencing rubber banding, unless...

If you are experiencing rubber banding with an average ping of 280 or lower, that means you are getting lag spikes... intermittent periods where the packets your game client is sending to the game server and vice versa are taking too long, and so the simulation of the match on the server is getting out of sync with your game.

The first place to look for causes of lag is in your home network and on your own PC. If you have family members or flatmates watching video or playing games, the additional load they are placing on your home network could be causing your network connection to lag at times. Similarly, if you have apps, or system tray applets, or bittorrent clients, or even Windows automatically downloading things in the background, they can cause lag.

Anyway, let us know what your average post-game ping is, as a first step. I am not a networking ''expert'' but I've picked up a bit over the years which could perhaps help.

I just played another (different but great) game and know now what to blame in everything - DESYNC.

Damage not registering with low ping - desync!

Ping definitely affects it. From tests with my lancemates, I've deduced how far I need to lead a Spider that's circling me in order to be able to hit it reasonably reliably.

But the thing with Spiders is, sometimes I shoot them when they are completely stationary for several seconds, and yet they still don't get damaged... That's clearly not a ping/ag/leading issue.

I hope someone gets the person who did this and slowly burns them to death with a lighter.
Interesting how everyone has been convinced that humans should be protected while everything else can be tortured.

Would you at least concede that silverfish are evil and deserve such treatment?

Aye I know, but trust me it happens quite a bit on Victors as well. The games' hit detection is rather buggy on all mechs, not just spiders/lights.
But in my spider, I have NEVER taken 0 damage from a hit in over 80 matches.

My ping varies between 250 and 400. Nothing I can do about it since, I do actually have networking experience and know there's nothing I can do to change the ping level. I was hoping there was an ingame fix that would prevent the server from doing it's little trick but since that is not the case, I won't be playing spiders or any light until there is a server in Australia.

Thanks for the thought though ;)

Mine jumped up to 320 over Christmas, and that's when I started to see some rubber-banding from time to time. It's back to 230 now and I haven't seen any rubber-banding, though I still need to lead the target more than your average bear.

Insects do not count, but just wait until a Brown Recluse bites you in your sleep and you end up with necrotizing fasciitis.
You will change your tune buddy when you have a huge chunk of your leg meat eaten away by venom.

Actually, I was nearly killed by a spider bite when I was 6. Edit that - I did die and was revived. Nice to see some mindless hate though, nice one ;)

I've found that there are 2 types of people:
1. those who can move on
2. those who can't
Which would you prefer to be?

Personally, I'm the move on kind. I hated for decades but then took note of how it gave me a ****** life. Much better for me to forget the past and start anew.

Well given that we're all still here (in the MW:O forums).... :P.

But surely you will admit that silverfish need to be exterminated right? in fact, if anyone has any tips on keeping them away, I'd welcome them.

lol ;)

2 weeks in Royal Brisbane Childrens hospital over christmas of 1978, bitten by red-back spider while playing under the house.
I blame myself for being in the place where the spiders live, they had no control over my being there.

To be honest, the most abominable creatures on this planet are humans. The only species who kill for fun and have terrifying weapons at their disposal. The only species who nuked 2 civilian cities for their own gain. The only species who commit ******** of other species so they can have a pretty house. The only species who torture animals for monetary gain. :P

Ask yourself this, would you rather be on a deserted island with a murderer or a spider.
