Bug
Missile launcher location changes after config save. This changes the fire pattern due to tube allocations.
Steps to replicate
1. In mech lab fit the following in this order: artemis | XL280 | lrm15 | lrm10 | lrm5
On the model the lrm15 goes into the shoulder launcher for the 20 tubes location.
2. Save mech.
3. Change to another mech in the mech lab
4. Change back to GRF-1N
The launchers have now been reorganised into lrm10 | lrm5 | lrm15. The mech lab confirms this.
In game this causes the lrm15 to fire 10+5 from 10-shot tubes rather than all 15 missiles from 20-shot tubes.

Steps to fix:
1. Sell all of your LRM15s.
2. Sell all of your LRM10s.
3. Sell all of your LRM5s.
4. Purchase new launchers in the order you want them placed on the chassis.
5. Save.
6. Switch to another 'Mech, then back to the Griffin.
7. See that the launchers are in the order you want.
8. Post back in this thread thanking me for fixing your problem.

Now... if we could get Cbill refunds for this from the Devs due to this economic problem with the game

Erm so at current exchange rates pay £0.5 worth of cbills to fix the problem.
If that's the only fix I'll switch back to 3xlrm10's and accept the heat management.
I've not had the issue elsewhere. You give the impression this it's more widespread - Does it affect other mechs?

There are several other mechs that have their weapons (not just missiles) sorted in all sorts of weird and wonderful configurations.
FTR, I tried Durant's method a while back after I saw him post it elsewhere, but it never worked for me.

It is fairly widespread, and happens on many 'Mechs. But most people don't really care which hardpoint their weapons fire out of so they don't complain.
Basically, what happens is this:
Each weapon, once mounted onto a chassis, gains an affinity for a certain mounting position. The weapon will then seek out its affinity when it's placed onto another chassis. You will place it on the 'Mech normally, but after saving the configuration, the order will change. A brand new weapon doesn't have an affinity, so it will stay in the position where you put it.

If that's true, you're the first person I know of that it doesn't work for. It has worked every single time I've had the problem. It's possible that it didn't work for others, but I haven't seen it reported. And it's not my method -- others advertise it as well ... I'm assuming because it worked for them.

Yeah this, sadly, is a very old issue and it's affecting every 'mech and every weapon.
There are simply some where you don't notice (like what the H does it matter where medlaser4 is mounted on the jenner for example). On other 'mechs, especially the ones with missile hardpoints or "favourable" hardpoints for specific weapons it is very noticable and annoying...
It does seem like an easy fix, get rid of that code-snippet that makes weapons favor certain hardpoints, yet it's never been fixed.

Seem to be having this problem with Griffins where I have an LRM 15 and a 10. I put the 15 into the shoulder slot, then the 10 into the body. Save, switch mechs, switch back and the LRM 10 is in the shoulder mount meaning the 15 fires with the 10 but then launches another 5 (as in the 15 fires 10 missiles then 5). Most annoying!
