Just saying, I'd be willing to donate $100 if that money was tied to a defined deliverable via Kickstarter and that money was put in a Trust. Piranha would only get said money when that point was met and if they failed to meet the point, all of the remaining money would revert back to the funders.

Just saying, with Piranha's history, there is NO way I will give them money again, the trust is permanently gone, but if there was on outside entity monitoring, frankly I'd probably would go up to $500 for free if they could make published weapon design changes.

Things like:
-Lower heat cap higher dissipation
-Convergence differences based on Arms vs Torsos
-Remove ghost heat and never bring it back
-Fix SRM
-Make NARC useful
-Community Warfare
-VOIP
-DX11
-UI 2.0

Hell man, if Piranha put an outside entity to hold them to delivery dates for UI 2.0 and CW, and that entity would judget the deliverable, I'd have no problem putting a c note their way.

TLDR: Pay Piranha for performance only if they actually delivery and have it verified.

I wouldn't trust these guys with money at the moment. I need to see concrete results first. How about a kickstarter to buy back the IP?

Things like: doesn't mean they have to do it. What it does mean is that Piranha would have to list out their "Vision" and timeline and actually have to deliver. If their vision includes things that people don't want, no problem they know in advance and can go elsewhere. If their vision includes things that people do want, then they will get the funding.

I would love to see Piranha release how much money they made from Founders to Phoenix to Clan pre-orders. I have a feeling they are seeing a steady decline between offers. But its not like they will ever release those figures. Trust is a big factor on it. My friends list went from 37 to 2 that I saw online recently.

you know, I didn't read the OP, but I did read your post, and it kind of makes sense doesn't it?

Not satisfied with the game means no money for PGI. Working as intended.

edit: spelling

This is wishful thinking.

PGI is like 50% artists... as UI 2.0 and many other examples I can cite... they care if the game looks good, to the detriment of gameplay and other more important aspects that matter.

If this ever did actually happen...

Forumwarriors: Where is that LPL buff promised?

PGI: That was simply our position at the time.

Two friends in different major AAA-list game companies confirm... 25% artists in one... in other guy said only in special situations do you need that kind of art muscle.

That's actually where I was going with it. Not to mention they have laid out their vision. A few times. I don't see where anyone can say differently.
Now fi you're talking about implementation of that issue, that's an entirely different issue and exactly why my wallet is currently closed until I see some actual implementation of their vision

PGI feels like NASA in that Simpson episode where all their equipment is only good to measure viewer ratings instead of helping the crew in space

Yes. Its like when you go to a repair shop and say:

I give you the $500 you ask ONLY if you fix my car. Crazy right? Ha! Asking for something in return for your money!

PGI is like the Church, you do not buy stuff from them, you make donations in good faith that your soul will be saved

HA! Only if we could.... I would give the IP for free to the guys that did MWLL...

Now, seriously. PGI is working to make a better MWO game. I just do not think that we will ever get anything better than a PvP brawl.

More realistic goal: Start a kickstarter to fund having a giant bronze scale placed outside PGI's building. Bonus points if you get them to agree to have Russ and Paul's offices overlooking it.

lol, i actually like the idea, but its a glaring symptom of how dysfunctional the relationship between the devs and their players is that we would go to any means to get the game we were promised.

I dont think they have any true understanding of just how much money they are leaving on the table by screwing with us for years now.

I highly doubt anyone sends the pgi devs tea and cookies and homemade liquor like the guys a t star citizen receive.

That game is still the 8000 ton elephant in the room . For the health of this game, Id almost be afraid to see a poll seeing how many mwo players have pledged to star citizen and are just waiting for it to drop.
Idid.
and as you can see, nothing for these guys bec, well , because thats what they deserve so far. THeyve gotten about 20 bucks from me for mechbays and one paint color because thats what the game as it is now is worth to me .. tops.

PvP brawl cannot and will not change (even with CW) unless there are actual objectives aside from "hold this point". There's no objectives other than cap this point and/or shoot everybody on the other team. I'm not saying that's a bad or good thing, that's just what the game currently is.

The addition of "scan target with sensors and retreat to these coordinates" type stuff is what will change that. On the other hand every single other MW game has the exact game play we have now when it comes to multiplayer and they were quite successful. Every PvP game boils down to that exact same thing. You're basically going to run out and shoot the hell out of everyone on the enemy team.
What adds to that are the tactics and strategies used to be successful while shooting everyone else. PvP is PvP.

It's a completely different game. Those that want a big stompy robot game are not going to drop MWO just to go play SC. The same argument was made about Hawken and that was an actual stompy robot game. We all see how that one turned out

MW2 style scanning was nice.

Too bad, I doubt this will be realized.

disagree. Based on what i see in SC forums, and my own personal thoughts. Ive been mech dude for years now in mw4 and mwll with low player counts but if SC delivers, thats what i will be playing. For me b4 there was mech 4, there was xwing v tie fighter.
I think i am not alone.
we will see

I have no doubts there will be some who enjoy the space fighter game more, but there will be just as many who don't. There will also be some who jumped into SC with both feet and begin the QQ when they see that SC isn't everything their paradise view had hoped for.
I'm sure I'll try it out and play it some and will probably enjoy it because I loved the Wing Commander series and The X-Wing game but I like my big stompy robots more

Space sims are set to rock again! (been playing them nonstop for the last five years in anticipation of this day, too)
