It's an unreleased chassis so not a raven.

If it wasn't for the unreleased chassis remark, the most controversial hero mech I could think of would be a hero raven with ECM. No other pay only mech has ECM and remarks of P2W will descend upon the forums due to ECM's perceived OP.

It was denied...

I still put it between the Firestarter or Javelin. Comstar or mothball mechs like the Hermes, Mongoose or Thorn are possibilities but their variants ain't too greatly different and most are either extinct or were retired/mothballed by 3050. Just hope we have a preview of what it is so we know how much MC we may require...

BTW it might be the first ECM hero! You'll never see it even after it's released!

Has anyone heard anything new about this mystery Mech? I keep checking twitter for a sneak peak like with the Project Phoenix Mechs.

So if this is an unreleased Hero mech, are they releasing the variants in the next patch? Due to their stupid system of having to own 3 of one type of mech to Elite/Master, it seems like they need to do that for it to really be usable.

Nope, I assume going forward it will be like the Highlanders. Hero first Tuesday, MC second Tuesday, C-Bills third Tuesday.

That's what I meant. But yeah...interesting. So Saber mechs are being pushed back a full month at a minimum.

I saw a post somewhere that its supposed to be a 35 ton mech, is there a PGI official confirmation of that? If not my money is still on the Urbanmech...

If they did confirm 35 tons, then I would bet its the Firestarter.

No, they will be out February and March. We'll get two mechs a month I guess those two months.

I understand, but up till now, they were releasing on the Phoenix Project schedule, so I was curious whether they were going to do Wolverine/Griffon next, or stay with the cycle of Light>Med>Heav>Assault.

They already said that they were going to release the light on the 4th, and one of the Saber 'mechs for CB/MC on 2/18.

So now people are contradicting eachother.

So are they releasing the hero light on the 4th and the rest of that light's variants the 18th? Or are they releasing the Wolv/Griff on the 18th, and pushing the Hero light's other variants till later?

As far as I know those details were given during an NGNG interview (which I personally have not heard) but the audio is available fom NGNG podcast #100 http://www.nogutsnog...hp?topic=1629.0

I'm thinking (read: hoping) the new Light will be the Wolfhound. 35 tons, used by a major faction (Kell Hounds/Wolf's Dragoons), not previously revealed...

And it could be controversial in that they have to make apocryphal variants to make it fit the 3 variant requirement and make them unique.

... I just really want to have Grinner in my Mechbay.

Well the Firestarter does have an ECM variant on Sarna, with JJ, and 7 energy hard-points, so...

"

FS9-S The FS9-S is an overhaul of the FS9-H introduced in 3049. The structure has been upgraded to use an Endo Steel chassis. The weapons carried are four flamers, two medium lasers, and a single small laser. An Anti-Missile System with one ton of ammo has been added to protect against missile attacks, and a Beagle Active Probe has been installed to enhance the Firestarter's scouting role. BV (1.0) = 551[19], BV (2.0) = 760[5]

FS9-S1 The FS9-S1 is identical to the FS9-S except that it carries a Guardian ECM Suite instead of the Beagle Active Probe. BV (1.0) = 613[19], BV (2.0) = 820[18]

If it is the firestarter or wolfhound I am buying it. But it has to be able to handle those flamers.

Looking over the new video, I think I saw a preview of the next 'Mech hidden in the shadows:

If it is a urbie they were hella slow. Meat shields for the atlas.

An atlas with 2 or 3 satellite urbie escorts would be hard to take out.
