Am I the only person in Australia who's dropping on maps hoping to get Alpine or Frozen City, in the hope that I can fool my brain into thinking the temperature is under 40c?

Typical, every map is Terra Therma or Caustic. FML.

I just want alpine because I love big maps. in fact alpine, tourmaline, crimson straight, terra therma, and caustic valley are my favorite maps in that order. I could care less about the heat since I run heat efficient builds.

I heard you guys had to add a new color to your weather maps because you didn't have one to record the high temps you were getting.. like 130 degrees F.

It's not your imagination, but understand that some maps are weighed more heavily than others (in other words, these particular maps come more frequently as configured by PGI)... and Terra Therma/Mordor and Caustic are still weighed higher (with others) AFAIK.

I hear you Dexter.

After 5 days of 42+C last week anything that makes you think it's cooler is welcome.

When you get to work at 6am, the suns not up yet and the temp is in the mid 30's, it's a long day in a metal warehouse with no air conditioning. Good training for a mech cockpit though.

Yep, inner Queensland got to 54C this summer. Not sure what that is on Farenheit but it was a first for Mungindi.
Edit - 129.5 F

Well at least it feels like that Alphine and Frozens are the rarest maps, I played 3-4 hours Yesterday and didn't get those even once...
...but got plenty of Mordor

I'm in a cold(ish - Scottish winter) country and I don't want to see any more of Mordor. Every time I play it I feel the need to go outside and sit in a puddle. I can;t imagine how you guys felt.

In some parts of Australia, we could just look out the window and SEE Terra Therma. :)

Be careful what you wish for.

Here in the northeastern US, it's currently 3 degrees F... Converted to C that's -16.

Climate Change on a global scale has been obvious in recent years.

I get my daily "space/weather" news from here.
http://www.youtube.c...s?feature=watch

Crazy powerful weather systems are the new normal.

Its been -20 to -40 here in Canada.

And thank heck for that. Humidity is the enemy. That's why I live in Adelaide, not Darwin

I truly feel for you Dexter I player terra 7 times in a row then played caustic for 1 battle then back to terra for 5 more battles and in USA?? it sucks asss .I never was a fan of games that pick the maps for you like MWO does. In the older games you could set up a game pick the map you wanted, Pick the mech configuration you wanted to play and drop on the map.

MWO is not a true MechWarrior game like the older MechWarrior games were PGI will never learn anything and they never fix the important things about the game either.Might as well call MWO=World Of Mechs sell the game to wargamming.net let them put it in there game lineup along side World Of WarPlanes. ETC.
