Why do I like it? Dunno its a decent mech scrap to me period thats all no depth to it sure but as a skirmish game in Mechs its OK for now.
You want more details? Sorry why should I explain myself to you? You have judged the game wanting, which is fine, now go away its not like your Forced to be here or play. Nobody has to explain anything to you; why explain the beauty of a sunrise to a man blind? You can't seen any good so all the arguments anybody could come up with are a waste of time. Ergo you are Trolling deliberately or inadvertently I neither know nor care.
PGI may be doing it wrong by some folks lights but they are the ones having a go at least. If somebody else does a MW tital better I'll go look at that but until then I'm here coz I like it.

Feedback attempt #3.... you think after the 3rd attempt you'd realize what feedback meant. Feedback: helpful information or criticism that is given to someone to say what can be done to improve a performance, product, etc.

Assuming all goes well, next month will see the new UI, which has been holding back other innovations. I think June is the target for CW etc.
So basically you came back just a bit early in one sense, but in the other, you could jump in, play some and get back in the swing of things.
Now if you really don't care about the combat aspect, then I don't see this game ever really being your favorite. Even with CW, the primary focus will be mech combat in order to get Loyalty points etc.

I don think thats quite it. It would be one thing if the approach were different. However doesnt sound like he wants to BE back.

It's quite possible. After all, if the game turns out to be great, then it would mean he made a mistake in not keeping the Founder's pack etc.
That said, I don't believe negativity on the part of the vets has a place here. This section is here to help new players. Bitching, whining, and all that have their place. It's just not here.
I wish the mods would do more clean up of these threads. Sure the whiners would whine, but then they would reveal themselves as {Surat} for not being able to distinguish between the appropriate time and place and the inappropriate.

Well then you can leave. I think the game looks great and as a closed beta participant there is a decent amount of new content (not as much as I had hoped at the time, but still pretty good).
Anyways, if you want good things then the forums is not where to look. If someone is on the forums it is (mostly) cause they are posting about this or that or the other thing.
But if you want good things I'll try to list off some:
- Great community (circumstantially)
- A decent amount of Mechs
- A good weapon, module, and upgrade selection.
- 13ish maps with a variety of environmental variables (still waiting on Jungle/0 grav )
- Decent game mechanics (some glitches and a few things could be changed)

A brand new player finds MWO. Tries playing, fails miserably. Heads to the forums, and opens up this thread. Not going to get a good impression is he? Surely not going to know what Recruit means, and then sees negative posts telling the OP to get lost, or lern2play!!! Not likely to help with retention is it?
This section is to help new players. Not discuss the game etc. The OP didn't have much choice in posting here, but he could have read other sections but was apparently too lazy to search and instead wanted it handed to him. So no I don't think it's any great loss if we lose him, but I was more interested in others that may wander in.
To be clear, I doubt the OP would be a great asset to the community, but better to be nice to him (at least on the first page) than risk losing new players.

What he seems to really want is to throw a bit of a fit and have a good scream at the developers and fans of a game that failed to live up to his personal, subjective desires - a game which he feels that he himself would have made ever so much better.

In the end its down to your personal preferences. If you prefer the previous games, go play them. At the end of the day a game is there for your enjoyment...if you don't enjoy it play something else.

If this were framed in even the slightest bit more of a neutral way, I'd be alright with it being here. However, this is New Player Help, not 'Jaded Alleged Ex-Founder "Feedback"'. Personally, I only answered him the way I did above in the hope that his 'convince me why I should play this' was genuine, rather than some sort of effort-troll.
I guess now I have a post for the other side of the coin too. /shrug

Graphics Was Better In Cb
balance was better in Cb
Teamwork was better in Cb
Cheese was limited to the streak cat and the gauss cat... Both were easily identified and focused down from the get go... cheezers were taught painful lessons as their mechs were stripped down to the bone and they had to pay for repairs...
Economy was better in closed beta. ...
Dev interaction was better in closed beta....

What is better with the game now?

HSR when it bothers to work..
we are that much closer to CW which is still coming soon
Moar maps Moar mechs aka content
a few tweaks and fixes more and the game is fairly well balanced
You are lucky that you have your money back... You got nothing to complain about... You didn't live through a lot that we had to put up with...

Why, why,why, why,why,why,why,why,why,why,why,why,why,why,why,why. It makes no sense why people must be so narrow minded. Yea there are things to still be done but to say that it is in the same state+UI is coming feb 4th and the plans for the rest of the year are gonna be met. where do you guys come from with these rediculous statements
