When I first saw a picture of the mobile command base it seemed like I had seen it before somewhere:
Oh yeah.. This looks sorta familiar:
Notice they both have the elevated drivers box at the front?
They removed the storage tanks from the transport, chopped it in half, added a small dish and some shacks + extra bits, and viola! A Mobile Command Base!
Personally I would have hoped you would have made something based on existing BT lore like:
Now there is nothing wrong with having a tracked or even hover command base, besides the wheeled ones pictured above. We have tracked MCB vehicles now:
But that converted transport just doesn't seem right to me.
Does a giant, slow, fragile vehicle which requires crew to go outside to get from station to station seem like a the kind of thing you would lead a battle from? "Quick! We are being shelled! Go outside, run up the stairs in the open into that tin shack and drive us away!"
You certainly would have a hard time hiding it. In addition being somewhat top-heavy it would need to go very slow making it quite vulnerable once spotted.
In my opinion you might consider asking the art team to give it another go please.

I don't think it's meant to be a mobile command base, so much as a deployable command base, despite what they called it in the patch notes.

I'd like to call it target practice

It's mobile in that it can be moved, not that it's supposed to be moving right now.
That said, a fully armored vehicle somewhere would have made some sense.

Its better than the previous option IMO. However it would be cool to see a armored vehicle with some weapons for defense.

I like allusions to real-world objects in my sci-fi. I believe that's what this is:
