The Raven was made for NARC, though a really disposable spotter would be a Locust. NARC + ammo and an ML. A -really- pacifist Locust could pack TAG too, essentially leaving it weaponless and a spotter/cap/air and arty strike monkey.

Nope, it'll be NARC + ammo + 2xSRM2 + TAG. A little bit of firepower just to skew peoples aim but largely this thing will rake in more XP and cbills than 3x SSRM2 + ML ever did.

???

Raven-3L is 3E, 2M. Count the # of missile slots you are using (unless you're talking about another mech).

Edit: I'm guessing Com-2D?

It's suboptimal (when you do the math right). At least it would work better on the Jenner-K, and make more sense than a 3L.

This more or less looks like the "kick" NARC´s needed get their usage way up, because cooler than ppc and less dangerous than BAP to use against ECM :D

Thanks and more please !!!

I was talking about my Locust 3S, the little trouser-stain. The thing is so close to worthless in the current meta that the fastest way to level it is start a match run up to the enemy and hopefully get 2 shots off with your 4x SRM2s before you die. More to the point you ignore the 4 missile hardpoints and just load 1 ERLL. Having NARC would give it at least the illusion of usefulness.

I'm not sure if that's going to beat the 5V in total uselessness.

Im not sure where your getting that its supposed to be a mega descrutive shotgun. Its just a shotgun. It weighs less then an ac10 and takes up one slot less as well and also has better heat efficiency. Its a good in close brawlers ac and a nice compliment to a uac5 in many builds.

Mechwarrior 4 did only one thing properly... And that was to make LBX Autocannons more damaging up close than regular AC 10s. It'd be a positive improvement to this game's balance.

If you're not carrying an arty and air strike in a Locust, you're doing it wrong. :D

Try it. Seriously, try it. A 5V is at least hard to hit. The locust is an easier target with bigger hitboxes, no JJs and less armor. Give it a try, it's dirt cheap. You don't even need DHS for it, no point. You want the ultimate 'worst mech' experience that little bad boy is it. Try 4xSRM2s (not artemis of course, too heavy!) and 1ML and see what happens.

Yep, the most damage you'll do in one.

LBX - Worked right out of the box. That is literally the gold standard.

No thanks. I trolled enough Lolcusts during the PP release to never want to drive them unless the speed cap is lifted.

Unfortunately, while the LB-10X there did more damage than an AC/10 did, in MechWarrior Online for ~~mystery balance reasons~~ the LB-10X must be locked at 10 damage much like the AC/20 must be locked at 20 damage per shot. Changing either of these values would make the game no longer actually run or something I guess.

LB-X is a casualty of the ability to aim for specific locations. In Battletech, where damage was random, it gave you a chance to score a lucky critical hit.

In this game, critical hits are pretty ineffective when you can choose exactly where you want to shoot and just take the whole location and critical items off with it.

Quick ask them to re-implement scaled PPC damage under minimum range (and find a better way to implement clan missiles[because it works less awkwardly for PPCs]).

I have a JR7-K that I run with Narc and 4 medium lasers I have at least 1 mech focused around each weapon system in my collection even though I feel some are underpowered. The Jenner with the Narc was the one I avoided playing the most I would use it to chase down an enemy target with the incoming missiles icons and try to launch a narc as the volley neared. The biggest gripe I had was once I started launching a Narc for each volley the 4 medium lasers I had equipped may as well have not been there as shooting them would knock the Narc off making the Narc I had equipped useless instead. Thanks for the change it really makes a lot of sense my loadout can now work in harmony and my JR7-K can now attain Narc and spotting bonuses on top of higher damage so ill probably field it more often.

A LPL works decently well in one. You have to give up ams and only do 160kph but the faster burn time makes it easier to hit and run while putting the damage to one spot and drawing less attention to yourself. Of course plenty of other lights do it better including the phonix locust if you have it (because of the c-bill bonus) but as far as locusts go it does alright.

After reading through that lovely NARC thread, I'm going to side with you guys and do 2 things to it.

First off, NARC will no longer be disabled/knocked off through damage. It will last its full duration.

Secondly, NARC will receive the EMP effect on ECM.

This will likely come shortly after Feb 4th due to the size of the Feb 4th patch.

Peace out - :D

1) Great, thank you! This is one of the things narc really needed.

2) Umm why are we having things ECM is upposed to protect against counter it? Would it not be better to take out the cloaking field, and have ECM effect communications instead? That way ECM is balanced with NARC, BAP, and data sharing.

It's sort of bizarro land version of electronic warfare, where electronics defeat electronics countermeasures.

Now that Narc is going to have a little bit of utility, Beagle needs to get some love, or ECM needs to get toned back. The skill and effort needed to turn ECM off is way higher than the skill needed to turn it on.

ECM could stand to lose the stealth bubble, and just hide information like damage readout and add lock on time and it would still be useful for its 1.5 ton space.
