Skirmish last hit timer

Both teams start off with a timer
Each teams timer counts down
Each time your team deals damage to an enemy your teams timer resets
If your teams timer reaches zero you lose the match
Your timer reset value is 10*seconds for each surviving team member
If the last enemy player hides he loses in 10*seconds if he inflicts no damage
Note main match timer will end the game as normal

*Note arbitrary figure as example

10 seconds is not nearly enough, especially on the size of some maps. I also would say no timer until at least 8 mechs are dead on the team. Other than that, not a bad idea.

Never thought I'd agree with someone who has an Argus in their signature.

The community cried out for a cap-less skirmish mode. It got exactly what it asked for.

Think before you cry nerf.

NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN!!!

It's fine how it is, but...I can agree with their being some sort of punishment for hiding and shutting down after a few minutes like perhaps your mech explodes or something along those lines.

So, say if I'm dealing with a light 'Mech that I can't damage (LRM boat, for example) and he just runs around in circles pinging me with a laser...I lose? Even though he wouldn't be able to kill me before time expires? Or worse, I get penalized for "delay of game" because my partner is slowly crawling across the map and he can, but I can't? Or he's in another frickin Spider with an ERLL on Alpine and pinging my creeping AC/20 'Mech at 900m and hopping away. Do I get hosed for that too?

Or I'm in the last 'Mech with the guns shot off or out of ammo and I don't want to give you the last guy over there the kill, you can frickin' find it and EARN it while I'm going for the draw instead of the defeat!

No. Just no.

I keep a copy of D-bags, tards, Team Killers, and a-holes on my DEsk...

So far in 1.5 months I"ve only encountered perhaps 3 D-bags that run away (in a Light Mech) on Skirmish in games that were unwinnable (7+ friendlies)...

I"ve only played one additional game with one of those D-Bags and called him out in the chat.. .even providing date and time that he did that... his entire team even said it was lame...

Its really RARE (for me in my Elo) to see this happening....

Sucks though if it happens a lot to someone else.... I can see why people are trying to come up with creative ways to prevent such things from happening...

Maybe a Vote system in the game? If a lonely Mech is shutdown somewhere someone can start a vote to end the game early? Everyone gets a Vote? ALthough I"ve heard of some games where it was 6 vs 1 left and the 1 left won the game,ect..

I have no issues with the timer. Per the rules if someone deals damage then hides its cool. Today after a quick 3 minute stomping one light was left and played hide and seek. Ran the full timer out. Needless to say the stomp team was not happy for it and just sat in a deathball going round the map. Of course they can carry bap and spread to find a target. Of course that takes some work past calling targets and nailing them with alphas. You actually have to go out on your own and think for yourself.

Again no issues waiting because I sign on for the full match every time I press launch.

I have rarely ever had a match time out. There is no reason to change this. If you are tired of being kited around by 1 troll light, learn to counter it or shut up. You ask for it and deserve it when you have 7 slow heavy/assault mechs running in a ball after 1 light.
