I run my Wolverine 6K with 5xMLs and top out (with speed tweak) about 116ish, without about 106. It's been quite effective and has one of the highest K/D ratios in my stable. I enjoy using it.

I answered a similiar question here. To quote:

Fast medium? You can't beat the Trebuchets. E/M combos are one of the hardest hitting but also the lightest(and hot) combos out there. With Trebuchets you can always go 100+KPH, do respectable damage and be an absolute pest for the other team.

When I'm talking about E/M, I'm talking about ML's/SRM's and SSRM's though. If you expect to stick LRM's on them and be a fast lobber, set your sights towards Shadowhawks or Kintaros. Trebuchets IMO are only good at one thing and that is jumpjet brawling.

Check out this guide for an example http://raksarmory.bl...azy-flying.html

I second Trebuchet, nice and evenly distrebuted hardpoints. 7M and 5J are my favorites. on the 5J i run 4LLs. They are nice sniper platform too.

Been having fun with the Wolverine 6K: 375 Xl (120kph with sp. tw.), two ERLL, 3 smalls, and one SSRM2.

I LOVE my cicadas, but I personally feel it's a mistake to put a 340XL in one. At that point a Jenner is 2 kph faster, has JJ and runs cooler, with the same (or comparable) weapons. A 300 XL in a Cicada gives you a combination of speed and firepower that no other mech can match.

Anything bigger than that has the issue of the engine size. Taking a Cent or bigger up to 120kph means you have about 5 tons for weapons due to the engine weight. Mediums work great around 100kph, and you can do that in a Treb, some Cents, Shadowhawks, and probably others (those are the ones that I have).

Trebuchet, Wolverine or Cicada (Especially Cicada, it is like an oversized light)

This is a brutal Light hunter:

Having a blast with it now that it's fully unlocked. You have to stalk your prey, because there's no long-range weaponry, but that's what you have the speed for. Watching the little guys go into panic mode when you start running them down and they can't get away from the streaks is awesome.

I think it boils down to: The fastest you'll get in a medium is ~110 to 120...which would be suicide for a light mech. So you have to play fast mediums differently...I think you should pick one that mounts an engine of ~300 or higher and can jump and you'll feel at home.

I think that is only because I got hit there with a wrench several times when learning how to dodge...dodgeballs.

having quite a few mechs and doing some extensive number crunching with certain weapon/speed configs, i ended up with the CN9-D...
with 2 streaks, 2 MLs, 2 machine guns, BAP and AMS. 338 armor going 130(XL365 engine) the sustained DPS output is around 6/s. and thats all that matters when youre a good pilot and can hammer down on targets.

ZombiCent(can lose both arms)!!!

youre also a nice pain for lights when they dont expect you to be that fast

energy weaps really hurt any DPS calc for mechs

the treb-3c isnt bad either getting around 130 allows 2 streaks and 4 MLs(chain firing) and you can sustain dps pretty well too also BAP/AMS

but thats what i build my mechs around... sustained dps for a long period of time rather than pure burst... just my style

This is Mr. Tankinstein ... 98kph, extrem durable and a nasty flanking, little ***** ....
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...f9f3204d636d0d7

I also like this one: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...412aeab0883e89a but more or less the CN9-AL is my favorite cent. You can play it with a XL275, 2x LPL, 2x ML, and seven extra DPS for a heat efficiency of 1.4 ...

Centurions are great! Hopefully Griffins are the flying version of them.

This is my Cent
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...7e6ef3a2e48cd6b

its actually 7.36 dps for 1:30 which is awesome, try to find anything similar at those speeds
can take out a heatsink for another streak ammo if you find yourself running out for prolonged fights
