how the hell can i alpha for 75 three times against a hunchback and not get a kill when i know all my shots in the alpha landed in the CT. 5xSRM6 with Artemis (and 3 medium lasers). both of us standing still at 60 meters range.

****** the chance to hit rubish off with srm's and just make the bloody things hit already!
the LBX is projectile based, and it works.

surely mwo is making enough money to afford programmers who know how to deliver results and not more bugs.

also, im not impressed with ui 2.0 because if u look back at the screen shots we got last year and compare them to what we got it's completely different. screenshots from last year looks great, what we got on the other hand... seriously.. "lets spend months making something else that's sub-standard" ??

How could you possibly be taken seriously?

1) Search Function

2) At least use proper grammar in your title of the thread. Currently the title is reminiscent of, "I accidentally all the things"....

I think you meant to type "than" in the title since "then" relates to time.

Aside from that, a hunchback has 64 CT armor, likely 50 plus on the front, on top of 32 IS. Your 75 damage of SRMs, spread over the 3 torsos, would not have killed him regardless. SRM hit reg is also borked. We've been told to deal with it.

On a sidenote, ranting isn't going to get you much help or responses that might help you improve a bit

ok, so im shit with spelling etc and i was too pissed off to double check id written everything out correctly, even in the title. I don't need to have correct grammar to have a say, especially as a paying customer of mwo.

i have searched through the forums and i've seen and heard a lot about the srm's.

so that's it then I take it. SRM's are bugged so deal with it?

as in that's how they're likely to stay and they couldn't care less?

i'm not looking for advice on how to improve, i'm pissed off.

Would MWO rather we shut up and not have our frustrations and opinions heard?

A lot of us would rather have threads like these go away.

the 3x 3 medium lasers were hitting the CT i know that for sure. so thats 45 damage, which leaves 180 damage which as pointed at the CT. So what your saying is that I should not expect 90 srm projectiles and 9 mLasers shots to kill anything over 50 tonnes?

Which is why you're being discounted.

MLs are not pinpoint. I'd be willing to bet you raked them across or at least moved them at least once during their beam duration causing damage to spread a bit here and there, SRMs spread damage.

SRM HSR is subpar, it's been documented and you can either believe they'll fix it or not. Either way "Argghgh I'm pissed" is not what the forums are for.

"Then don't read it"?
How about you don't be a dbag and actually act like a normal person in society instead of throwing a fit and attacking people who WOULD have been willing to try and help you out and answer your "new guy" questions if you HADN'T acted like a toddler throwing a tantrum

It's normal to be frustrated. I get frustrated every time I try to load SRMs, they're borked and in being borked they gimp a whole swath of gameplay and a slew of mechs and builds. It is irritating.

The problem is that you're just coming here to rage. You don't want help, you don't want advice or feedback. You just want to sperg.

Why should we listen or care? How are we expected to respond? You found out that SRMs are worthless. It's very annoying, we're all aware. There's a big difference though between being annoyed and expecting everyone to care that you're annoyed. What reason have you given us to care?

Are you running Artemis IV or no? With srms being in the boinked state that they are Artemis is key, IMO, to having reliable success with them. The tighter spread that artemis gives the srms can't be ignored... even if it costs you enough crit slots that you have to drop one of the srms. Plus if you're trying to fire the ML and srms in an alpha like you say, you are going to either miss bad with the srms or miss bad with the ml. Depending on which weapon you account for in your alpha.

yeah i've got arms on, i've got a seperate button for chain fire but on this occasion i was using a fire all srm button. so basically i alpha'd the ml's and a split second after i'd alpha the srm's.

If that was the case, someone would have said it. It's more complicated than that, so they tried to explain. Then you got cranky.

Hit registration with large numbers of SRMs is ... variable. Also, just because you're aiming SRMs at a specific point, does not mean that all hit that point. That's part of the charm of missiles. And that's without going into the whole "beam weapon damage delivery" explanation.

All of these things have been extensively covered in the forums. The hit reg issue is a known problem and will be/is being worked on. The rest falls under L2P, I'm afraid.

Also, just to follow up, neither of those things is an Alpha, strictly. And hopefully that was a mis type because if you're seriously talking about arms rather than artemis, we need to have a whole different conversation. One that starts with "Ok, so this is a mech ..."

Ah yeah, the typical forum-goers at work here! Helpful and empathetic to others as always. It is a known issue yes, but I welcome any more attention to the crappily implemented things we have to deal with in this game until they make an official announcement on plans to fix them. The squeaky wheel does get the oil after all.

Sorry to hear you're having issues, and the reception is less than stellar. It's easy for some of our long time forum members to forget that not everyone is an alternate account, troll, or is constantly reading the forums.

The latest I've heard about SRMs was from Technical Director , Matthew Craig.

Posted 03 February 2014 - 05:47 PM
There was investigation into SRM hit registration done a while ago, we agree that SRM hit registration along with hit registration in general needs more work. I just don't know when that work will be scheduled at this time.

A few days later he posted this....

Posted 05 February 2014 - 07:32 PM
We've looked at the telemetry and nothing is noticeably changed with hit registration from pre patch. As discussed we'll be trying to adjust our internal schedule to get some more time to investigate these issues as soon as possible.

Cheers.

Yep I sure did, I just didn't feel the need to get butthurt at someone, who is obviously upset, posting their frustration with a mechanic. Oh wait, I forgot how effective being an ******* is at stopping other people from being angry and creating a helpful forum atmosphere! Silly silly me

Edit: Thanks to Helmer for pointing out those posts, I tried the search function but after the first page was solely made up of other people's threads pointing out the issue, i assumed there had been no recent word.
