I don't use it, just like I don't use Strikes, or play the Meta or any of the various things people complain about.
But you come off like a total cry baby in most threads.

You were just told in this very thread that altering the file to give that view is, in fact, cheating. Your opinion on it is irrelevant.

Yea, it's not really cheating. Cheating is aimbots or walling or any other type of action that allows you to do something unintended by the game.
But by removing certain parts of you cockpit, you are intentionally altering the game look by removing the cockpit. Now you want to tell others how to do it even when Destined said not to. You are awesome.

I don't understand what you mean. Am I suppose to agree with something Sandpit said? Am I married to him that we have to have the same thing said?
Well we can't even decide if it's cheating or not, so how can we begin to move forward and end this travesty!

My concern is as a peer 2 peer is it not possible then to use a trojan to enter an opponents PC and do real harm is this something that is a possibility here on Star Citizen using the same engine?
Hope this does not start a fire storm but I am pissed, shocked, and deeply concerned that this has come to light.
Wow, whoever wrote this showed a total lack of knowledge on how MMO's like MWO and Star Citizen work.
MWO is no peer-to-peer game. It's a client-server architecture which is the total opposite of P2P.
The other players never see anything of the modified .cfg file and neither have to 'accept' it.
When he spectates, he simply sees the game from the other player's viewpoint but with HIS .cfg applied.
All other players will see the game with their own .cfg applied. There is no way to force them to use his altered .cfg
And this said all other conclusions like that 100% hackable thingy or the ability to inject trojans are invalid...

Well actually, that doesn't say it's cheating. It says they are "investigating".
And does Destiny get to dictate terms like that? Last I checked He/She was just a forum moderator.
Or forum administrator, as if there is a real difference. And a "lite" one at that.
YOU KNOW WHAT. Maybe this is one of those instances where PGI should use their new super communication powers and make an official statement.
HOLY {Scrap} MAJOR EPIPHANY!!!!

I am pretty sure what I described what I thought cheating was. Would you like for me to re post it? Aimbots, wallhacks, and the like.

They believe they are creating the 'Second Coding of Christ' in what they do, and EVERYTHING they kludge into the game is absolute.
Unfortunately there's a small number of very vehemently loud people that have bought into this.
Ultimately, the vast majority of us players are not stupid and don't need cockpit glass to let us know we're piloting an imaginary robot, and if the only means we have at our disposal is to make a single change to USER.CFG, that 'unfortunately' also eliminates the mostly non-functional cockpit... Well, it's a small price to pay, honestly, to not end up with a migraine after an hour of play.
I can't believe PGI isn't concerned about causing unnecessary eyestrain, motion sickness, and/or migraines in their player base...
THIS
First of all... Dimento did not have to post here... I do not know him or ever played with him.. but usually when someone gets called out "cheating" they deny or whatevers... the dude took the time to tell his side of the story.
Interesting.... I posted this 3 days ago and nothing happened.... but the Cockpit glass is starting to cause me physical pain so I actually looked online for a solution.. and found his video...
Not that Cheating is a good thing... but honestly certain mechs are now nerfed with the Cockpit Glass (Cicada is horrible) and PGI might have had good intentions but as always... screwed it up with horrible shaders that make the cockpit glass reflect EVERYTHING.. even light behind a mech (through the Mech) or through Caves and walls,ect... its just ******** and I now get Eye Strain and headaches using the Zoom module.
I've tweeked my FOV so many times before I knew about this... Here is a screenshot of what can happen in the game if you mess this up
Now while having the Field of View Outside is clearly what you would call a Cheat... so is me messing with Files to get my MOUSE WHEEL to work on this game...
I"ve already lost 2 friends who refuse to play this game anymore... and its the Developers fault in creating situations like this.
Is anyone even surprised about this?
Where is CW?
2.0 that doesn't suckDonkey Balls?
SRM Fix to make Medium Mechs not Suck
Noo... we get a messed up version of COCKpit Glass that causes Eyestrain, discomfort, and even motion sickness...
By the time the Clan mechs arrive this game is going to be dead

I disagree.... YES its cheating.... but his opinion on it is not irrelevant..
This game is becoming Less Fun everyday... and painful to actually play...
I dont condone what he did... but I understand why he did it and its VERY relevant to the issue at hand

Anyways, the realism argument doesn't work very well with Battletech. This is the IP where shooting an Atlas in the hand can destroy his entire arm. It's the IP where giant robots are so tall for their mass, that the Atlas in MWO could actually float on water how low its density is! (At least, I've heard rumors about it). This is the IP where a Gauss Rifle, powered by massive electromagnets at enormous levels of energy, generates nearly no heat at all. This is the IP where, well, we use giant robots instead of tanks and other ground vehicles (which have more concentrated armor, plus a lower profile, and can be mass produced easier). This is the IP where most of the Autocannon calibers available (2/5/10/20) are dramatically heavier than their real-life equivalents and with a lot less range. This is the IP where 800 meters is considered "long range" whereas in real life your mech would be instagibbed from miles away by modern technology. The list goes on.

Cockpit:
No cockpit (only my FOV setting, cl_FOV = 100, to utilize my extremely wide monitor):
What do we see here? Well I can see more of the sky, neat, but not really relevant when the enemies are 99.999% of the time going to come from ground level.
I can see more of the ground in front of me, also neat, but not really useful as I'm not allowed to target anything in that area. Now, I might be able to see any light mech that's leg humping me (oh gee, we don't have any knock down any more, so they get to leg hump all they want, and it's not 'cheating'), but again, I can't shoot at him, I can't fire that low.
Next, we'll go the visual mode most of us are actually playing in, a majority of the time, zoomed, and only the first level, so here you go:
Zoomed w/Cockpit:
Zoomed w/NO Cockpit:
So, no difference at all, what so ever while zoomed.
Ultimately, 'A difference that is not different, is no difference.'

Now this is where I generally take issue with PGI.
They leave it to the community to fix issues for them instead of putting in very basic things like this and quality tutorials. I don't get it. We launch an online multiplayer game with no lobbies, no persistent game world, no voip, etc.
It makes no sense and to me that's a managerial issue. It's one of the main reasons I won't spend money until I see some improvements (which lately, it seems like they're on the right path)

another man cheats is a FIX a Broken PGI Game..
FYI... I do consider this outside of the Cockpit a cheat... only because a newbie person would not know how to do it...
