Thanks (sarcasm), I won't name you, but if you read the forums you know who you are. You broke up our lance and we lost track of each other. I got 925 damage, 5 kills and 2 assists by myself. Imagine what we could have done as lance if you hadn't broken us up and confused hell out of everyone....

When we drop these days, the first of us in the game takes company command to avoid those donkeys who feel the need to shuffle everyone around

Yeah, I wish we had. To rub salt into the wound, he got 101 damage and was in a trial mech.

Hey R Razor, if you're attempting to be sarcastic, then please explain to me what the irony was. My team-mates got rushed, I ended up living because I realised what had happened after they went down and stopped following the lemmings. Our side won on caps (just 750 - high 600s), and only due to a couple of us running away near the end.

Sorry if I get angry on behalf of my team-mates. I get REALLY annoyed with {Surat} who take command, swap lances around and then say nothing. At the very least, if you take command then please state some sort of plan. It's usually better to have 12 mechs doing something vaguely dumb, than 3 separate lances following 3 different plans.

Aside from dumb moves from "Commanders"... I blame lack of communication. No one talks at the beginning except for trash talking or saying something witty.
During the minute you get, discuss a brief overview of strategy. Talk to your lances so you can coordinate.
Too many times have I seen the PUG teams scatter like roaches when the lights come on.

The last couple times I played with organization, we won. Big. I was playing with AaronWolf, and he took command, without being the commander, and lead our team to victory...

And the second time was when I took command of the lance, and we stuck together. We were the only lance to have everyone remain in tact. All others took at least 2 casualties. But we decided to forgo the heroics,(EDIT) and hilltop skirmishes taking potshots at enemy mechs (/EDIT) stuck together, flanked the enemy and completely ripped them apart.
2 heavy's a light and a medium can focus a lot of firepower on the flank of unsuspecting mechs.

Frankly I think it doesn't help the situation to quickly take Company Command unless you're actually prepared to use it. I've seen people take CC and then do jack all with it. That can potentially deny someone else from using the meager tools we're provided.

I'd love to see a +1 Thumbs up commendation system for players. The more commendations you've been given the better your Elo or more likely assume command. Heck, if you're a poor commander, you shouldn't be given the change to take CC or LC. It would just say "REQUEST DENIED", this should especially be implemented to new accounts or those who are using Trial mechs exclusively.

That wouldn't be a bad idea. A merit system.
Hell it could even be a stat logged on your profile.

"Successful commands" /"Failed Commands"

Allowing the GenPop to rate their commander's ability would be very useful. But it couldn't be based on individual votes due to immaturity factors or jealous voting... it would have to go by the Company.
7 Users give a positive response then the mission command was a success... Stat gets logged as 1 successful command.
likewise for a failed command.

The Irony, SIR, is that when I made mention of "morons" in chat in a match we were playing together today today you immediately had sarcastic comments to make..........and 10 minutes later you're posting a thread complaining about the very same moronic type of behavior you defended earlier.

For the record, I do share the same opinion of folks that randomly break up lances for no valid reason, and especially when they don't ask first.

Hope that clears it up for ya........

Wouldn't it be awesome if people just exercised some common sense with this? If you see a compelling reason to shuffle, just ask. The people who don't want to be split will speak up, and if no one objects to the change it might just be a good idea.

I was in a skirmish match with 4 spiders that someone grouped up. Despite being pretty badly outweighed we won like 12-2.

Just, you know, ask.

Whilst I fully support the above - keep in mind that:
1) There are a LOT of people who do not pay any attention to what is typed (some for good reason)
2) Not everyone who does pay attention will respond until after you move them (if we waited until we got a response, the options would never get used)
3) None of that will stop the True Trolls
4) Pants?
5) Some people (even non-trolls) are douches, just for the sake of being such
6) We get tired of "Not-a-Troll" team-mates TKing us for even asking, just because at one point they had a bad experience because of being moved (or whatever other excuse they do/do not provide).

Apologies if I don't remember the incident, it obviously stuck with you more than it did me. When I do fire off a crack at someone in game, it's usually because calling people {Surat} in the middle of a match isn't useful, or because I'm just feeling like being difficult at the time. It's nothing personal.

Something I noticed from my BF2 days (not to mention the feedback threads on this forum!), often the only feedback we get is negative. If three players vote you're a bad commander and eight abstain, that's a mark against you. Should have some kind of quorum to receive a +/-, and if not met the mission goes in a third unrated column. Otherwise I like the idea.

Can someone explain this to me? I feel like it has something to do with a certain Valve game, but in an effort to avoid looking like a complete {Dezgra} with assumptions, the question bears asking: Why do people talk about cake so much on this forum?

We hand out cake to threads that get sent to K-Town. it's a consolation prize for having your thread tossed there :P
Then we rehabilitate the thread
