Hey people just wondering and cant find what I need to know so putting it to the great people of the forums.

Got my third Orion mech and almost got the elite skills done on it (omg the grind but got the ON M model to get)

1- If I sold 2 of the mechs leaving just the one orion left in my mechlab will I be able to get the elite skills on the 4th orion or will I have to have atleast 2 orions in my mechlab plus the new one? (would have all the skills done before selling them)

2- If I sold all but one of the orions will the X2 and elite skills still be active on that mech? or do you have to have 3 mechs at all times?

Think thats it ;)

God bless Orions

From table top gaming years ago to MWO they will always be my Favorite mech!!!!

Thanks for any help

1&2) Yes, you'll still have the unlocks and still be able to elite a fourth one. You have to own a chassis to spend XP on unlocks, but once you have the unlocks, you always have them.

Just as an additional clarification: You have to get three variants of a chassis through basic to be able to unlock elite skills, but you only have to get three variants of a weight class through elite to be able to unlock the master skill (module slot). So, for example, you've now "opened" the heavy class. Say you really want a CPLT-K2 but think LRMs are for sissies ;), you would only have to get two other CPLTs through basic and then you could sell them and master your K2.

Nice thanks for the reply, so to just confirm this I could for example sell all 3 mechs to help fund for the 10 mill Orion and stilll use exp to get the 4 elite skills.

Welcome.

Assuming at least two are through all basic unlocks, yes (new would be the third). If at least two are through elite, you can take the new one all the way through master.

FWIW, I don't recommend that. Mechbays are cheap and you get very little back on selling mechs. But that's your call, obviously. ;)
