As part of House Liao's sacred mandate to unite All Under Heaven under the banner of our House, my mother, Chancellor Romano Liao has ordered me to serve a tour with a combat unit in order to hone my martial skills on my path of ascension to the throne. I ask that any unit wanting me to grace them with my presence and have their Prince fighting at their side to please reply with why you are the premier unit of the Confederation and how your loyalty to the House is unparalleled.

As an aside - I've been a tt player since the 2nd Ed and a vidgame player since Crescent Hawks Inception on the C-64.

I greet you as well hair on the sacred throne.

I wish you all the best of luck on the combat field.

May your enemies die quickly and the throne hair be conditioned to perfection.

You're not the prince.

You're an impostor.

Don't come around my block with that attitude that you're somehow superior because you managed to get a canon name by not spelling it right. You're just another body...

Wait, hold on. I just realized. Don't worry, I won't interrupt your psychosis further.

In fact I have a place for you in my company. We're all a little crazy. Check out the site in my sig.

Your insolence amuses me, were I like my mother, you would be carted off to a Maskirovka prison right now or a Death Commando would be visiting you in the middle of the night. Fortunately I do not waste resources that help strengthen the Confederation.

I'm not sure if you realize this, but historically Sun-Tzu Liao was known to be a very poor mech warrior.

If you're basing that off of his performance during the testing on Outreach with his negative score, you'd be right  But he is a competent if not great mechwarrior and it would stand to reason that he would be serving with a unit just like every other heir in the IS.

A true Free Worlds League citizen would never bow to some Liao sitting on his porcelain throne!

Umm.... what? If you're thinking of the Big Three heirs (Kai, Hohiro, Victor), they were kinda freaks of nature in the Mech department. Hanse and Theodore were good because of their military experience. The others were kinda.... ***** with a Mech, That Sun Tzu got the worst of the scores says something.

Kai Allard Liao was in the top 5 mech warriors of all time. In the later books he got the amazing 0/0 G/P score. Which means he would have been scary even as a Clanner. Phalen Kell(Ward) was a 0/1. Vlad Wolf his "rival" and Khan of clan Wolf only had a 1/2 G/P score. At the height of her abilities Natasha Kerensky was a 0/0 as well.

Victor Steiner-Davion was a 2/4 which is almost elite ((2/3 = Elite)) and Hohiro was 2/3.

What VSD had was an insane combination of Tactics, Strategy and Leadership to back up his really good mech warrior status.

Nah if I was basing it off of that I'd say that he was horrible mech warrior and a raging coward as well. :D Also based on that he had a massive inferiority complex when it came to Kai and was willing to make himself look bad if it meant making Kai look bad as well.

Kai-Allard was a traitor who deserves his fate.

Sun-Tzu isn't Chancellor yet, and this impostor even admits he's not the real Sun-Tzu.

That said, you FedRat dogs get out.

I would agree with that, considering his fate was....

To be considered one of the best mech warriors ever. Dueling champion of Solaris 7. Happy Marriage. Several Kids. Dying at the side of his best friend in battle at the ripe old age of 83.

That's a pretty good fate.

Interesting note both Kai and Sun-Tzu die in 3113 but Kai is one year older at the time. :)

You're basing this off his recorded conduct at Outreach, in which he played the part of a weaker statesman seeking to avoid his nation getting dragged into the war.

His politicing was effective, he got a bride, Operation Guerro, Star Lord for a few years and St Ives.

I'd say he did what he needed to do for his nation, and did it well.

His mech warrior skills have never truly been tested in combat.

This person is not Sun Tzu Liao.

Maskirovka or Death Commandos? Please - on Purvo, I am the Maskirovka, and Death Commandos are just mechwarriors.

Not true, I even said just a few posts before that I wasn't basing this off of his time on Outreach. Instead I'm basing it off of the published source books that state over and over again that he's a poor mech warrior because he rarely ((during the Jihad a few times)) actually pilots a mech in battle and rarely practices. He's not a fighting leader, much like Melissa Steiner Davion was also a poor mech warrior.

I just don't get how anyone can say someone is "poor" at something when they haven't been truly tested? I don't recall a single source book saying he is poor and the most recent one doesn't hint at that.

Would you say VSD was a poor Prince because he rarely practised that (fighting Clans and stuff), lost his realm and power to his sister and led his nation into civil war.

If you say yes then I concede, its just a terminology difference ;)

I am true to the cannon, I dont like players claiming cannon names/units unless it is part of a player built league. Although I do like roleplaying ;)

Without a doubt VSD was a poor Prince and better suited at leading armies than ruling. The fact that he realized it was a good thing and part of the reason why after winning the Civil War he didn't take over the FedCom again but left it to his non-murderous brother and sister.

Sun-Tzu was by far the better political leader and many times more successful at being the ruler of a realm.

Every major player has their own strengths and weaknesses. If I were giving the choice of who I'd want to rule my realm from a "I want my realm to grow and expand" Sun-Tzu would be at the top of my list of people I'd pick of the 3050 era leaders.

If I needed a General of my armies and somebody who could inspire people on the field of battle and plan a massive invasion and military actions... VSD would be near the top of that list.
