What the hell PGI? You fixed this like a year ago to some degree, people wouldn't get credit for matches unless they stayed in game for 2 minutes first, what happened to that? A player could literally drop in all of their mechs and accrue millions of c-bills with NO effort at all. Why was it changed?

DID they change it? I guess that would explain why I am seeing people disconnect fairly often...

If you've watched any NGNG Twitch videos lately, you'll see Sean Lang get d/c'd as often as 2-3 matches in a row, 4 per broadcast.

He wasn't "farming" anything, just got gibbed by the game. Same thing happens to people often enough to appear as something insidious, when in fact it's this game kicking them out of matches, especially at the very start.

Except I see the same people in different mechs every time, d/c'ing every time. It's blatant farming. Reporting people is a bandaid but what I want to know is why Pgi reverted the fix.

D/C farming -isn't- back. You still get nothing for D/Cing from a game.

What -is- back is the chronic instability. I have a friend who crashes out every time he doesn't delete his shaders after a match. It's quite silly.

This is wrong because I just tested it not too long ago. YOU DO GET CREDIT for d/c'ing a match.

How much do you make? Given load times in and out farming seems like it would a boring and inefficient use of time. Is it mathematically to make more than by simply playing?

The main reasons you see discos at the start of the match are:

1. Players intentionally avoiding maps or team rosters.
2. Legitimate network errors and/or client-side hardware issues.

Haven't bothered to test this but I've read recently that you still get your 25,000cbills for playing if you dc' at the beginning of a game.

@Lukoi I dropped in a battlemaster and received a little over 70k c-bills for the match which was a win. You get roughly 30-40k if you lose and have no kills or assists from what I remember. This is on Conquest. So in a trial that's100k MINIMUM for all 4 trials which take up to 2 minutes to get the match started. Keep in mind this does not include your already owned mechs.

News to me. Last I heard you get credit for nothing that happens after you D/C, and that hasn't changed.

On the other hand, I have quite a few friends that disconnect every game... because their game is crashing or the network is dropping their connection. There's a bug in there.

Did you disconnect, or did you AFK idle? If you AFK, you get rewarded. If you D/C, you get nothing.

I've been seeing a certain someone (who I sent in a support ticket about) suiciding match after match. He/she must see some benefit or they wouldn't be doing it, right?

I disconnected from the match.

You don't even have to overheat suicide now, you can just quit the match and you will gain c-bills.

There is no penalty for D/Cing after death, and suicide will reward you.

I think you only make what you have earned up to the point at which you DCed.

It used to be you get no credit if you left prior to 2 minutes in (Unless you oveheat suicide) Now you don't even have to do that and you will get credit and c-bills.

Well at the end of the day, if you see people who you think are "DC farming", screenshot it and send in a ticket. If it's a common occurrence for the player(s) they'll take care of it and it may help get some of the farmers out of the farming business.

Its possible that there is farming due to the announced changes coming. Myself PGI was pretty vague about XP refunds so I see no point in farming anything.

I have noticed more DCs and some other weirdness about arty and airstrike and posted in Meta. Who knows?

I don't think folks are farming.
I've been having TERRIBLE connection issues lately.. I'll be in a game for a minute or so, and then "session lost" which really has never happened to me until very recently.

I'm not sure exactly what is causing it.
