If whiteknighting includes pointing out that a person's hyperbole and blanket statements is all it takes then hand me some whiteout cuz I gots to recolor my armor

for the record, I do realize you do point people hyperboling (is that a word) a lot, which is something I can respect, but you seem to do do that solely when it's going against PGI/MWO. I never noticed you pointing a person's hyperbole when said person is a white knight :o So I guess that's how you got your white knight mantle.

Btw, if you want to refute this by saying only detractors hyperbole, this would be hilarious in a very ironic way.

I think PGI should thank all white knights with a free crusader skin for their mechs and free white, Yellow and Black colors. Then you can sport it in game and everyone will know who you are. White Knights of the PGI tabletop!

does any one else get the feeling this game is already over? seeing to many 12 to 2 matches? irratating window glare, even more ticking me off is the motion blurr when i have that on off, seems they go out of thier way to waiste programming time on senseless features nobody wants or even cared to to be a part of the game instead of fixing things that shud of been done long ago.

stopped playing a few days came back today, played 5 games and wanted to leave again.games were boreing 12 to 2 s,,or a variation of,,if i get my raven,i'll have 4 enemy lites and then if i get out my wolverine to kill all those lites playin, it will get nothing but assult and hevys, even in conquest games,,ive tried, and tested,,,match maker is bias and broke to the point that the fun is hard to find,,more like B>O>R>E>I>N>G,,

So why do i still come? well, its a solgiers game and i was a solgier once,i guess im hopeing for a miricle that heads get out of axx and i hear that popping sound, they have screwed everything i have bought,,locust,,wolverine, for example,,they felt the need to give thier favorite mechs,(spider and jenner) locust speed too,,then the wolverine,so dependant on missiles with no ecm that 1 ecm spider or raven can shut it completly down sense u cant put anything in its arms becouse 3 or 4 shots in the arm and its gone,,even had a locust shoot it off 1 vs 1 in less than a min..they do nothing for the raven,,but they made sure thier favorite mechs have better than atlas magic armour,,

So now i wont put any money to support the game becouse i know ill just be screwed one way or the other,,so my replacement for the my raven has to wait ,,as a long range recon sniper operating behind the line most of my games are the same,,a full lance is down even b 4 im set up, then i have no choice, to get in close range fight with what is left,,and in a raven that is the easiest of all lites to kill and leg its over just a quick..

u say they are keeping to the board game? that is a load of bull,,spider dident have locust speed,so what wud be fun? well,,cool sounds in the mech bays,,the ability to turned down the outside inviroment of the mech so i can here my ultra 5s and the gauss,,how about new weapons? the ability in mech bays to assign setups at a touch of the button. even the ability to change hard points wud be cool. how about hero medels for each game, like detection for recon,,and maybe top gun medel for 6 or more kills,,how about kill markers on our mechs for so many kills,,10/50/100/500 and so on so the veterans can be identified,,how about rookie players playing other rookies 1st,,so they can get to know each other in a fair fight and make friends before they advance to the big arena?? or is all this just outside ur ability to program..how about tracked vehicles like tanks and trucks, even flying machenes, people will pay good money for that and move the game to new levels instead of year 3000 mechs with 1940s mentality and structure..how about stop fixing what is not broken,,and the next time you grow a brain... dont,,if u please

Bah, I just wrote a long helpful reply to the OP and then the website signed me off and it didn't get saved. So, the short version.

1. Jenners didn't get a speed boost when the Locust came out.

2. Hunting lights with SSRMs is very risky and very ineffective. Learn to use ballistics and energy weapons. It can be a painful learning process, but ultimately worth it. If you *need* to use SSRMs equip BAP and UAVs.

3.Maybe 'Long Range Recon Sniper' isn't the best role for you. Sniping is most effective in directly supporting your team, such as providing covering fire for an advance, or disabling an enemy's weapon at range.

4. Everyone thinks the matchmaker is out to get them.

5. More in game achievements is great. I wish we had things like 'Steel Wall' from WoT. Having a mechwarrior rating (Green, Regular, Veteran, Elite, Legendary for example) next to your name on the match start screen would be really nice.

6. Lots of people want combined arms (infantry, vehicles, air power). The turrets are PGI's first attempt at AI enemies. Hopefully there will be more.

7. Your play experience will greatly improve if you drop with friends. Jump on one of the many free Teamspeak servers and meet new people.

I hope you enjoy the game more as more features come online over the next few months.

I wouldn't say ONLY, but the ratio is more than imbalanced.

I don't think there has been a person on the forum saying "EVERYTHING IS PERFECT!!!%$#!@!! CHANGE NOTHING@#!!!"...ever.
But you cant swing a dead cat and not hit the same 20 people saying "EVERYTHING SUCKS@!!#@%! YOU ATE MY BABY@!!%#@" at every minuscule change..."So, why are you still here?"... "THE WORLD MUST KNOW!!@#$!%!%"

PGI eats babies?! :)

I appreciate fueling the "creative juices"... But as I hear tell, babies are chock full of cholesterol! And not the "good" kind.

What ever happened to Slim Jims and Jolt Cola?

There is no such thing as low carb babies. That's just a marketing ploy by Big Baby.

I can link a thread where I told DaZur I hated him because he posted a duplicate thread about balance if you like. I'm an equal opportunity kinda guy.
I don't normally have to point out hyperbole when it comes to "pro" PGI/MWO because it doesn't happen. When was the last time you saw anyone post "PGI is the greatest dev team ever!" or "MWO is the greatest game ever and there's no problems with it!" or "(insert random % or math equation here IE 90%) of (insert bandwagon here) is perfect or agree with me", etc.

there is a lot of new players entering the game. you can tell by:

1. the (c) monthly mechs in each match. I see 2-5 per pug match these days and that's the sign of a good growing community
2. the constant new player posts on the forums.
3. the increased traffic data used by the devs that keeps AI mechs from being added to drops to balance matches.
4. the number of "evil premades are farming new players" posts that spring up weekly on the forums.

dying populations don't have those issues.

Agreed.

My problem is the influence triple-digit detractor posts cultivate. There are members (unnamed) who's every post is laced with sardonic vitriol, who would lead all to believe PGI is the Devil incarnate and the game is in a death spiral...

I will admit unabashedly that when I stumble upon a thread that is being pitched out of context, with copious levels of hyperbole and or offer no balance to the opinion being offered... I believe it's my duty as a card-carrying member who actually enjoys the game and seeks its long-tern success, to interject, correct and if necessary troll the offending individuals.

Conversely... There a LOT of threads, that while critical of PGI and MW:O... I do not intercede in any way as that poster has a right to their particular opinion. Difference is they are constructive and reasonably fair in their assertions.

Point being... It's awfully hard to cultivate a growing player-base when a contingency of the active and or inactive members make is a concerted effort to convince PGI is the angel of death and MW:O causes uncontrolled free-flowing diarrhea.

Fair and balanced...

exactly
The only time I point it out is when someone insists upon making blanket statements, using extreme hyperbole, trying to convince new players that their opinion is factual, etc.

Then they tend to get mad because they're exposed as not being the end all be all and having the "official" word on the state of WMO, PGI, etc.
I've written many threads and posts that were extremely critical of PGI. They didn't get deleted, jettisoned, k towned (although I hope one of my threads gets the justice it deserves and earns a pinned spot in k town someday lol) because it was in the proper sub forum (even if that meant relegating it to off topic) and it contained more than "arrgghgghh!!! ehr meh gerd pgi suxxors! this game suxxors! why am i here if i hate this game so much?"

If you don't jump up and down and wail and flail on the latest bandwagon then you're labeled a whiteknight. If you don't agree with the OP or you point out that they're "facts" aren't exactly factual, then you get labeled a troll.

and then you get the alt accounts that "prove" something ebcause they're a "new" player and let us not forget the newcomers that, for whatever reason, think they'll "make a name for themselves" by "showing up" one of the more well-known forum personalities which are always cute because they think they're being 31137 and making a name for themselves while the bandwagon crowd pats them on the back. Those are my personal favorites

I'll be honest. I almost TL;DR'd until I saw "free-flowing diarrhea".
