Please, PGI, please sort matchmaking out. Just dropped with 11 players, including 2 assaults (victor and battlemaster), the enemy team had 12 players and 7 assaults (including 2 atlas). The rest, apart form a single light, were heavies. It was a massacre (the DC on our team didn't help, so we really had 10 players).

This is getting stupid, this has nothing to do with ELO or anything, this is simply down to a terrible matchmaker, it really needs re-written or something because this is becoming a common occurrence.

Dude, we have been assured from PGI that there is nothing at all wrong with the matchmaker.

It put all the Assaults on the other team because your team probably had 7 brand new players....and brand new players have the highest ELO rating until they're not considered new anymore.

I know it doesn't make sense, but that's the way it works.

Enjoy the ROFLSTOMPs. Sometimes, you get to do the stomping.

Well that's not entirely correct...they did say it is working "as intended" but it includes unfair match-ups on "some" occasions to reduce search times AND they're still woking on the system to improve it.

Also: Elo is a name, not an acronym.

Whatever, man, it's all good.

There are already several posts in this forum with regard to the matchmaker.

The long and short of it is that PGI is aware that the community is upset about each match being just one roflstomp after another but...as long as people keep feeding the machine to get MC, there's really no reason to change it. I mean, come on, MWO is a cash cow. Why would you change something if it effected your income in a negative fashion?

Nope, I'm good with it just the way it is. I know that every match I go into is going to be completely one-sided...so I choose to play a mech that'll still earn me 200k cbills per match, win or lose. If that means I have to drop an Arty or Air strike on my own team to get kills, damage and kill assists...so be it. Too bad for them. I still make my money.

My problem is not that it can occur but that it happens regularly. 5 of 8 games today were the same. This is not difficult to solve, their logic is simply bad and it really needs fixed.

if pgi thinks there's nothing wrong with the match maker why did the last match I was in start with an empty slot in both teams (not disco's)

One team having seven assaults stalker, highlanders, and Victors, three lights two ecm ravens and a jenner plus a Jeager.

The other team having no Assaults and two heavies and quickdraw, and Dragon the rest mediums and lights.


This to date is the worse match balance I've come across, but its not the first match where one team failed to have any assaults while the other team faced multiples of them.

Other company's when the active population drops below a certain number, match games with lower numbers, you need to start developing the match maker so when the people searching for a game drops below a set figure we only drop as 8v8


You guys need to seriously work out what your going to do to make it fun for your dwindling population, because all i've seeen from you is idea's thats going to make it strink faster.

Opening the elo's might have made it easier for the top level players find a match but after the elo figures out where new players go they're going to face people better than was originally intended making it harder for them to pick up the game and be discouraged.

Allowing 12 mans into the general mix is going to discourage pug players from staying.

Allowing people to group in larger amounts than four is going to cause even more rofl stomps than letting the 12 mans in, discouraging people from continuing.

I mean what are you going to do when you let people form private matches so they go off and do that, and reduce the numbers of people playing on the main game severs, this only worked in other mech warrior versions because it had a PvE content.

I just hope that when your proposed galaxy war map arrives, private matches have no effect on it, because if they do, that would be just another incentive for the casual player to look at other games, because the population outside of private matches is going to be seriously reduced, and you need ways of making the open servers populated not extinct.

Matchmaker IS working as intended. It's bad but it's working. Matchmaker does not care about tonnage, even if you have 12 Atlas on one side and 12 Locusts on the other.

We have been promised tonnage limits in the future, just as we have been promised CW in the past. Move along.

It's like...the other night...we were roflstomping and in one match we were like 11 and 1 and I was pissed that I was the 1! But then I thought, no, I'm a team player, I love this game. I bet it made the other team feel really good and fuzzy that although they were annihilated, they took down one of our elite team members.
