Hello,

On the 'Frozen City' map I am no longer receiving textures for the buildings and some of the snow when I load in. Its all bland uniform gray.

I also can't find out how much MC those textures cost. Are they similar in MC to the paints? Also, where can I purchase those textures?

Its really hard to have any kind of depth perception without them.

Thanks for any and all advice.

P.S. Someone said there may be a texture sale soon? Anyone know when that will be?

Dear Sir

You may be suffering from Texture burn out. Your old worn out textures need to be replaced for :
  • $500 and a shiney Mech Soon!
  • or by deleting your shaders folder (run repair tool select that option if you don't know where it is manually)
  • The repeating and oft reported Frozen city bug to reach the top of the Devs to do list.
As Yoda would say: "Breath holding I am not" Try clearing the shaders folder that worked for me an' the missus thus far....

This has literally been a bug forever.

Clearing the shder cace, running the repair tool, etc ay help in the short term. I've also had some luck with a clean install and setting the texture.pak to "read only" to prevent the corruption from creeping back in.

Aw don't worry about it, I'm sure it'll get fixed, UI 2.0 will come out, community warfare will be alive and well.

And then the game will be ready for launch!

Deleted the game... downloaded it again and reinstalled it. Still a texture problem on Frozen City.

Running an AMD 7770 HD if that helps any.

Though the OP post and subject line is humorous some of the issues may be system's video settings not playing well and/or file corruption once loaded.

In Catalyst, set everything to application control. If you play other games, you can setup a profile for MWO, using mwoclient.exe

On computer, open up case and blow out all built up dust from heatsinks.

In Bios, set memory to stock speeds instead of auto/turbo.

Also, for testing run system with minimal resources running.

Thanks I'll try this. :D

Also, I'm glad you found the post humorous. I try to dress my bitching and moaning in something that is at least a little tongue in cheek to be more readable.

 I was awaiting for someone to pounce on the MC for textures, there is usually at least one in the crowd.

And on the corruption, it may not necessarily be the file on the harddrive itself but the corruption occurring once it has been loaded into memory.

A few others have cured MWO from constantly crashing by taking control of their memory settings instead of allowing the bios to adjust the speed on the file (auto).

On the Catalyst game settings players have had textures disappear, simply showing an outline of not only the terrain but also the mech itself. I called that the invisibility cloak :)

Weird.

My premium time ran out today and I dropped in this map... and BOOM! My textures are back!
Was this game punishing me for spending money on it? :U

Oddly enough, some guy in the match I was in with my textures finally working was saying that he had no textures.

The bunk is going on here?

Does PGI know about this problem?

I thought I was one of the lucky ones for not having to deal with this texture issue. Never had a problem with it. A couple of patches ago I loaded up and updated a fresh copy on a laptop, then just transferred everything over when I got home to save some bandwidth. I've done this many, many times without issue other than having to reset my settings, groups, and such. Then BAM, giant gray blobs in Frozen City.

I'm running the repair tool now...I keep forgetting to do it. So...

Scan complete!
MISMATCHES FOUND!

MISMATCHED FILES:
D:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\system.cfg-->http://patcher.mwomercs.com/patch/Production/live/system.cfg

With the current options, clicking 'Fix' below will:
-Resolve any mismatched (invalid) files.
-Remove unneeded local files (if any were found).
-Clean shaders
-Clean local cache of FE images (fresh image will download the next time the game is run).

Fixing!!!

Fixing mismatched files.
Downloading file: D:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\system.cfg
-Fixed!
Cleaning unneeded files.
-Cleaned!
Cleaning FE textures.
-Cleaned!
Cleaning shaders.
-Cleaned!
Done!

We'll see if that changes anything.

Yeah, I still have the issue too. Not always though...one of the Frozen City maps is fine. Is it just night that has the issue? Or both for you guys?

Both for me. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it either.

I have it the wrong way around. Texture issues on Frozen City, ok on Frozen City Night.
