Piranha games has previous experience with this title that includes giant robots and I must say I really enjoyed that game. There are several really cool elements in Titans of Steel that I am hoping to see in Mechwarrior too!

However, I see that most MW5 fans have the background of earlier sequences of MW and I am not sure how much you value TOS or do you even know that game as to my understanding it didn't get very popular.

One of the coolest part in TOS was the factory module where you could build a whole new titan from scratch choosing between basic elements like armor types and thickness. I liked how there was so many aspects to keep in mind to be successful in battle. For instance the flares to confuse missiles, shield, heat level, Jock health/stats and ejection. The most hardcore part was that when your jock died it was permanent :) I wouldn't recommend that.

One of the coolest part in TOS was close combat. I loved the dual chainsaw combined with heavy autocannons and the charge ability. There was even such think like the death from above which was landing from the sky on another titan (not sure) ?

Anyway, I really hope there will be polished close combat system in MW5 and weapons like chainsaw, power axe, vibra claw and of course punching and kicking that will damage your own titan too.

Your hopes not withstanding ...

Q. Will MechWarrior® Online™ have Mech melee combat?

A. At this point in time we are not looking at melee combat. We may revisit melee combat if we can design something that is fun and does not compromise the overall gameplay experience.
