I only say it to my team to congratulate them on a win. Never to the other team. I do agree with a lot of you saying that it's over used. Then again so are many other words which have lost their meaning.

Fun fact of the day: I (personally) struggle with telling tones of voice apart.
(though with what very little experience I have had with XBonline...... that would possibly be a non-issue :P)

As for other people having experienced what you have with it, consider the fact that my first copy of Windows Vista ran better than any other OS I have used..... :)
(shocking I know - I spent years wondering what people were complaining about it for - until I had to replace it <_<)

There are exceptions to every rule (Including and excluding this one) so there very well may be people out there who (even after having used it!) may not have experienced what XBonline is infamous for.
Or perhaps they do not consider it to be rude - there are plenty of people who have never learned why F-U is considered rude..... :o

I shouldn't have made it so direct that you WILL recognize tones. Because that isn't true. But it should give you an advantage over text.

Using Vista on a laptop now. After MS gave it the update it needed in order to function with everything I don't have many complaints. I also didn't run into the same problems using Windows ME. But that's why I try not to speak for anyone but myself. ;-)

I consider most of the negativity as trolling more than anything. I actually highly doubt most of these people that hide behind an alias and a screen that act like total ******** online are that way IRL. Question is... Does that give me a better opinion of them or not?

Some people use it deliberately to be a jerk, other people genuinely mean good game. When you just lost a match and especially if you got rolled you tend to look at things more negatively.

Because of this I sadly have decided to only GG when I lose in public chat and when I win I GG but only in team chat.

The things you do in the politically correct society.
