Recoil would only have any meaningful effect on AC2's and UAC 5's. Everything else would just be flavor.
If you've got time to readjust before you can even fire the next shot, recoil is pretty close to a pointless mechanic.

A little bit of recoil might be interesting in this game, but it would need to be fairly quick and self centering (maybe more like a sharp shimmy if that makes any sense).

Heh, I remeber once in MW4 I was using a cougar fitted with a light Gauss and a bunch of lasers, alpha striking with that while running full speed (around 90kph I think) caused it to trip over. It was kinda hilarious. xD

But then, those would be smaller caliber an not need the recoil.
