Has Anyone Noticed That Their Processor Speed Drops By More Than 50% In The Faction Tab If Running In Full Screen Window?

The clock speed on my processor does not appear to be affected by MWO. I don't see how my processor could otherwise slow down by 50% ... so perhaps your question is not as clear as you meant it to be?
In addition, which processor are you referring to? My CPU has 4 cores ... each of which executes processes. Are you suggesting that there is a 50% increase in utilization on all 4 cores when the faction tab is active? I haven't seen this but I haven't checked specifically. I have not noticed any significant slow down in responsiveness when the faction tab is open that would have made me look for this sort of effect.

Glad I wasn't the only one confused by the question. I tested the usage myself and noticed a slight increase in a core when I opened up the faction tab but didn't actually check my CPU clock speed. The overall increase was 2% but I have an 8 core so a single core going up isn't going to add much.

That simply means its using less CPU resources.

That makes no sense at all. Its only going to be two things. Either A. its using less CPU resources or B. its not optimized properly, which was my original post.

I think Jun might somehow have broken his OS, I don't see how this would be possible otherwise. More likely is that he's simply misinterpreting something.

What processor do you have? Sounds like Intel Speedstep issues.
Also how are you getting your CPU speed? Windows reports it inaccurately.
Use http://www.cpuid.com....1-setup-en.exe
Right now Windows says my CPU is at 3.4ghz but it's really at 1.6ghz, when I start actually doing something it jumps to 4.4ghz

I dont know what is hard to understand about this. I already explained it very clearly.
Looking at intel XTU :
With faction tab on : Processor speed drops to 1 ghz average
-On any other tab : Processor speed runs at 2.8 ghz (normal speed)
It is not CPU usage. It is literally processor speed.

Hopefully these screenshots will show the problem clearly. If you still don't understand it, then i don't know what to say other than to call a friend and ask him to help explain it to you.

Thanks, i tried CPU-Z but it just reports the same thing intel XTU does : that the processor downclocks the moment i have the faction tab active.

I would say it might be throttling itself because of temperature but only doing it in the faction tab would make no sense. Same thing with inadequate power supply.
Is it overclocked at all? Do you do anything else that would stress the cpu, and does it maintain full speed with those activities?

How this would affect other programs? No idea. If they need more power it should just clock up again when you switch to Firefox.
Concerning MWO, the faction tab is really simple compared to most other tabs so I do not see why it should have any issues. It's just some 2D stuff.

Also desktop or laptop? What operating system?

Its a I7-4700MQ.
Typically if i am on the desktop with nothing else running, it runs at very low processor speeds which its supposed to do. When i have firefox and some other stuff like IRC opened though, it typically runs at 2.8 ghz most of the time (although temps are about 50 degrees). Had absolutely no issue until CW was introduced with the faction tab.
