is it just me/my computer, or is the Ember's cockpit absolutely fugly? loads of lo-res textures and low-poly objects, especially visible in the startup sequence.

if it's local, has something changed in terms of the video settings with the latest patch and I have to check some option or other?

also, is there any way to change the paint colour on the Ember? I don't seem to be able to change the colour of anything other than the little ethnic markings.

I haven't purchased the FS-E, but from what I've seen from spectating you're correct. A lot of the items in the Ember's cockpit seem sub-par quality wise.

Then again, a lot of the fonts in game seem messed up too, so it's probably just a question of time 'till PGI does a quality check.

I have no problem with the cockpit. It looks great to me.

I did notice with this latest patch that all my video advanced options were changed to low. Maybe that is what has happened to you too.

Generally, i like the cockpit, upper half (what you see in the game). It feels tighter, and gives the mech its feel, the fire extinguisher etc is fitting for a flamer-mech. it looks less modern, more like an unglorious workhorse machine.

The lower part, you see more or less only during startup, yes, is fugly, especially that console thing on the right hand side yells "lowpoly-box", and im used to better work cockpitwise (Griffin, as one of the last, was gorgeous).

But well.. its a nice Mech..

Here you go:

On the plus side, in some other mechs, like the 'phract, you can look around the cockpit and find areas that have no textures at all. The Ember at least seems to have all the edges covered.

Yes, it'd be awesome if all the cockpits in the game got a quality art pass. And the pilot too. Hell, I'd spend MC on pilot clothing and customization items right away, especially if we could have him/her walking around the mechwbay too.

Ya my video settings were reduced to the lowest level after UIs implementation, I just thought UI Fd the graphics up but then I went and changed it to high setting and the cockpit looks great.
It is easil the best, most detailed cockpit so far, just look at the ceiling and all the pipes going everywhere! Very immersive IMO.

yeah I like how cramped it looks. Firestarter and Wolverine are my favourite cockpits to date.

I'll try and fiddle with the gfx settings again, thanks.
