Client patched without issue, however attempting to login launches the full screen loading screen with spinning 'Loading' circle, but the circle almost immediately freezes and the game locks up. The music still plays, but nothing changes until I ctrl+alt+del my way out of it. When I DO do that, it shows the login screen with 'Connecting' in the same frozen state as the loading one prior.
Continued to try to no avail. Any word on what might be causing this?

I have the same error. Stuck on "Connecting". It is in the notes that a small percentage of users will have this bug. I have tried to skip through the video intro's and it did not help.

Solved the issue before the hotfix:
Cleaned out all AMD drivers (Driver sweep)
Cleaned out MWO
Reinstall MWO and latest drivers did the trick.

Argh. Reinstalled MWO twice last month after a patch was causing CTDs. I'll give it a shot. Glad at least you figured out something of a workaround!
