The idea here is to use the kintaro's speed to go off and get behind/flank the enemy positions and lob LRM's at them. Not sure if the concept is even viable, so I'd like some advice before I spend any C-Bills on it.

Bring a TAG to cut through ECM and improve groupings.

I actually ran Artemis on mine and and replaced one of the LRM5s with an LRM10. I don't think Artemis is really necessary on LRM5s, though.

Basically I like to run off in my lights and get behind the enemy. The problem is that the large lasers I use really give away your position, so I was wondering if LRM's might work better, since people won't assume they're coming from behind them.

viable. yes. am i good at lrming, no

all in all. not my cup of tea i would rather have srm6s or streaks. but your build works well. Nice fire rate.

Tryed the flanking manuver like you said. Ran into an enemy lance, had to leggit back :P

You build should be viable when pugging, i've run one of these too and got good results as a second-line supporter who can quickly help where help is needed.

But you are probably disappointed if you want to stay behind enemy lines with this. In my opinion it's too slow. Let an enemy light find you and you have almost no chance to win this encounter with only 2 medlas or to flee from him with only 113 kph.

Edit: Also i doubt that no one will spot the direction your LRM's are coming from, they maybe take 1-2 hits but then they'll know what's up and smell easy prey.

Even when i'm running a well-armed 150kph light i'm usually very careful when strolling around behind enemy lines. You don't want to get into a 1on1 fight against another light because that's not really helping your team (unless you kill him without getting too much scratches which is quite unlikely).
And you absolutely don't want to run into 2 lights which happens often enough. So with only 113kph i would feel much more uncomfortable behind enemy lines alone.

But what could work is 'moderate' flanking. Instead of getting behind them, it is often good enough to get into their sides or any position where they have a hard time to get in cover from your team's fire and your LRMs. This way you utilize your mobility but are near enough to your team in case an enemy light tries to hunt you. Maybe you can even lure some greedy mediums into your team...

I run a build much like this on a Golden Boy, I call it my '********' build cause I was called that in a match once while running this one. I only pug so I'm not sure how it'll do on the competitive scene.

My engine is smaller but max for the GB, with another ton or 2 of lrm ammo, ams, Bap, and Target Decay/Adv Sensors modules.

It's very dependent on map on how well it does damage wise like most lrm based mechs. AMS will cripple your damage output but sometimes I keep hosing for suppression.

Understand one thing about this build, when you open fire with the hose on someone they get mad, like you owe them money from elementary school kinda mad. Entire teams will come after you with a vengeance. This mech can actually effect a match that way cause they'll ignore your team mates while after you even though your team mates are killing them. I don't think running it alone will work, I always try to be in amongst other mechs so it's harder for them to pick me out.

I run all the Catapult lrm mechs and they typicially out damage the GB but the GB out kills them by a good bit. I'll exchange fire with any lrm mech if I have cover handy in case it goes bad. Almost everytime the other mech is the one to break first. This thing is a terror to try to face down with it's hosing, kinda like a Cata 4X in that way. Even Assaults will die from this one with a cored CT fairly quickly.

Lights will tear you a new one unless they're really bad or already damaged up.

This is the mech build to teach people to run AMS.
