Is it just me or is the lock-on circle for SSRM/LRM extremely annoying? It completely blocks the target-lock square and you can't see sh*t inside.

I mean, this is what a Victor looks like with that lock-in circle from 400m away:

This is what it looks like when zoomed in:

Let's bring it closer:

Aaaaaaaaaaand zoom in:

It makes aiming and shooting moving targets with other weapons practically impossible, especially so with AC and PPCs - how the f**k can you lead your shot, when all you can see is the GENERAL DIRECTION of the target??

Lots of people complain about LRMboat, but even though I'm not one of them and neither do I boat LRM, this feature hugely discourage mixed long-range loadouts.

Please reduce the lock-on circle complexity. There're already two crosshairs in the center of my screen, the last thing anyone would need is more stuff to block the sight picture.

EDIT: just make it like this:

And my life will be much easier.

I'd be happy if they simply added a large red dot (with color blind alternate color) to the center of the torso crosshair (more like how the books do it).

Yeah, I don't like it either. It definitely gets in the way.

While I think you're massively exaggerating the intrusiveness of the lock-on reticule, I do agree that it's too complex.

It's long overdue that we can choose from some HUD elements, because this way or another not every Mech-Computer-Terminal is the same. LONG OVERDUE.

A dev (don't remember who) said that UI2.0 would unlock the possibility of looking at a reticle customization module. I would love to have parameter such as size, color, stroke thickness, shape...

Let's wait now that the "flood gates" are open.

I think its fine honestly, though what they could do is make it so it won't attempt to lockon unless you have weapons that can actually hit at that range. Since SSRMs have a range of 270m it shouldn't even attempt to lockon at farther ranges unless you also had LRMs mounted.

Though I do like the look of that diamond lock on symbol mockup!
